President Obama's last piece of glamping? Gound Force 1?

Any word yet on Mike the II or Lynn the II?

Cheers
Tony

Not yet Tony but had a rush trip to the hospital two nights ago...she's been struggling with some pregnancy related high blood pressure issues and she had a pretty severe spike. They kept her for hours but in the end sent her back home. She's ready!!! Here she is yesterday channeling some Pebbles and getting all artsy on us....

Yicks, is it just me, or is anyone elses back having a spasm just looking at that picture? I have a bit of a spare tire but that's a dually.

High blood pressure is nothing to sneeze at though; me Mom was flat on her back with me for the last two months+ (21+" long). Wish her and the baby all the best.

Cheers

I hear ya Tony! She's not a complainer but her back HAS to be killing her. I ended up taking her to her baby doctor today for some follow up...LOOKS LIKE TODAY IS THE DAY!!! She's all checked in at the hospital and hopefully, God willing, we will have a healthy baby boy and new mamma within the next 8 hrs or so. Fingers crossed and prayers said...BABY LEO IS ON HIS WAY!

HEYYYYYYYYYYYY FELLAS!!!!!! Mamma and baby Leo are in great shape!!!! He was born around six last evening. Kates is understandably very sore this morning, but healthy. LEO came into the world at just under eight pounds. Man, I was more anxious than her hubby Sean I think. Its times like that when I wish I still drank good liquor.

Now, I better dump that black tank today...

Congrats Mike and Lynn!

Your concern is understandable... that's your baby having a baby. The highest cause of death of women until the last 100 years of medicine. Glad to hear all is well and you can relax and have a Grandchild to spoil. Why no liquor?

I wish all of you the best.

PS Don't forget to send him birthday presents seperately from Xmas presents.

Cheers

Thank you fellas for all the well wishes, everybody is doing great. Got to hold the lil rascal yesterday, the last time I held a baby that small was his mother!

Back to camping here. Weather has been super mild, nothing like last year where we were getting overnight temps at 0 or less. We are camped at about 5500ft elevation so pretty far up there. We've had temps in or about 50 degrees nearly every day and 20s at night. Not even using the furnace very much, getting along fine with two small electric ceramic heaters. All systems running well. We have use of my daughters car while here and boy does that make me start consider a toad. So handy!

We have winter camped for the last 3 years I think. The more we do it the more we love it. The parks are so quiet and peaceful, very very few other campers out. In most places on the way out here we were the only rig in the whole park. Makes me shutter a bit about how crowded it gets in the summer months. Click image for larger version

Great for seeing wildlife and hiking through the park. The facilities here are really top notch. Here is a outdoor kitchen prep area in a shelter at one of their group spots

ID:	277366. The counter tops were granite Im pretty sure....or one heck of a good imitation. They have 3-4 of these group camp shelters all equipped with similar facilities.

I know we've had a stretch of mild weather here in CO but we also were frozen in back in KS and were absolutely comfortable in the rig with the few modifications I've made. This cold weather camping is absolutely doable in our Classics. In some ways we even like it better than summer due to the lack of crowds. Its awfully amazing at night, when you're the only rig in the campground, and its pitch black out. Kinda eerie at times but very very cool!

Congrats on the little one Mike, one more thing to remind us how old we are getting.

It's interesting your campgrounds being empty. Out this way it seems the private campgrounds are about 2/3 rds. full of permanent residents.

This one has a few rigs in it. I think there are 150 sites +- and I'd say there are maybe 20 or so rigs spread out through the loops that they have open. Since its a state park they enforce the 14day limit on length of stay, even when the park is empty. On the drive out we stopped at 3 different campgrounds, 1 state park and two city owned. We were the only rig in all three of those stops. I think it's more common for wintering over in the privately owned or city owned parks than state parks.

We love Clear Creek RV Park, this little city owned park in Golden just west of Denver. But they were full up when I was trying for reservations. They are nearly 100% full of folks wintering over for months....I think they keep 2 sites open for walk up customers...the rest are full of monthly tenants.

It is really a 100% different experience ,for us anyway....so peaceful, so quiet, more wildlife. We love it. Winter camping!!!!

Out and about in our travels today we stopped at the RC AIRPLANE facility located within the park here. Apparently they have an official club that has a long term lease with the state to utilize and operate this facility within the park. I know nothing about the RC AIRPLANE world but they were awesome to see fly and inspect up close. Nice facility with a large asphalt runway, shelter, restrooms, an official "pit area", and a viewing area with seating. Spoke with a few of the pilots who all were licensed pilots of real planes and got to see their RC UNITS up close. Some were electric some fuel. Pretty awesome stuff! Looks expensive too.

As you can see in the pics, the weather right now out here is just outstanding. Has to be in the mid fifties during mid-day and very strong sun. Boy it cools off fast though once that sun starts to fall behind the mountains. Absolutely beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are LOVING IT!

Baby and mamma come home today so Lynn and I spent the morning doin the tighten up over at their home.....fixing a few things, rehung a door, Lynn went to work cleaning and stocking them up on necessities....everyone is in good shape!!
