Low Fuel light Long Shot!

I need a wiring diagram for the low fuel light on my 84 classic. I believe the low fuel, water in fuel, washer fluid and low coolant ground wires all feed through a relay box mounted deep behind the dash. Immediately, I need to know what color the wires are that feed the low fuel light.

If anyone can help, I appreciate it!

Here are some pages from a chevy service manual. If none of these have what you're looking for I'll dig into my manual a little deeper.

Brad: Thanks for the great effort. I am not sure if I am smart enough to decipher all that. I didn't see what looked like a fit for my problem. The diagram I need will show a 2 1/2 x 4 circuit box with 10 wires. The circuit was made by Sterling Industries of Southfield, Michigan. The encased relays work the low fuel. low wash fluid low coolant and oil in water lamps.

FWIW...our water in fuel light stays on all the time...I was told that this is a light specifically for diesel engines...the low washer fluid light has a mind of its own, and has NO bearing to what is actually in the reservoir...I have, however, come to really respect the low fuel light...

Hey Scrap: The water in fuel light feeds into the same circuit box as the low fuel. The wif of course is for diesel only so I simply unplugged it. I actually have tried to rebuild the circuit box by using individual relays to the low washer fluid, low coolant, and the low fuel. My problem is the relays I bought from NAPA are fine for the lw & lc, but will not work for the low fuel. Something having to do with ohms & resistance.

Scrap, I meant to tell you, I rebuilt the washer fluid reservoir and used a float type sender unit (from Napa). Your problem could be at the resv, or in the relay. You could touch the wire that goes to your sender at the resv. to a ground and then see if the light pops on & stays. You would then know the problem is in the resv. bottle.

PD- I just open the hood every now and then and check the fluid levels...oil, steering, radiator reservoir, washer fluid reservoir...having pulled the dash loose more than once, I continue to be intimidated by the rat's nest of wiring to the various gauges and sensors...

If you've documented the work you've done on this box is there any chance you can post the information? The problems you've been having are pretty much the same as the rest of us. For myself I just haven't had time to dig into the system to see whats wrong. Anything you can post would be a benefit to a lot of us!

Actually, the hardest part of the process is getting your arms into the bowels of the dash. I will gather my part #'s for what I (with my pro mechanic) have accomplished so far and put together a little instruction guide.
