Looking for a seat control switch

Our 84 310 came without the passenger side seat control switch. I've attached some pics of what the drivers side looked like.

Anyone out there know what vehicle these might have been used in besides an airstream? I've browsed the web and as near as I can tell they might be a mid 80s Chevy product but I've yet to see one that looks exactly like it.

I'd like to find at least one and possibly two.

Or is there a substitute out there that would work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Brad

You can have the two off of my coach, I think they work OK. The motors in the power bases died and the new power bases are set up for different controls. PM me with a mailing address if you want them.

seat switch

I also lost th function of two motors on the passenger seat and wondered if the switch shown in your picture is the problem. Let me know if it gets yours working and I will attempt to find another one.

More likely that the motors have shorted (at least that's what happened to mine).

We verified the motors on the passenger seat by moving the drivers switch to the passenger side. Once I determined the motors were good I started looking on the web for the correct switch assembly. On our 310 the switch AND the housing were missing. Guy99 kindly supplied us with replacement switches and housings from his MH. Moving the switch from drivers to passenger side is real easy, 2 screws and then pull the switch connector from the switch.

In my searches I did find that the switch itself seems to be a mid 80s GM product easily found on ebay. I never did find what the chrome housing was used on.

What I would suggest is try moving the your working switch to the other seat to determine whether its the motors or the switch that is bad. Of the two switches I got from Guy99 one was good and one was bad. If its the switch then check ebay for a replacement.

Hope this helps.

Brad

The switch you are looking for is a "Standard Prof. Quality Automotive Parts" DS321 Power Seat Switch which can be gotten at most auto parts stores or on eBay. This switch was used on many models of cars and trucks in the 1980's from both GM and Ford.

the forward motion did not work. I found a plastic part inside that switch to be broken. I used a special plastic bonding system from loctite
to glue it back together. Since it was a 4-way switch, I rotated it 90 degrees internally to use the unbroken plastic part for the back and forward motion and the repaired part for the less used left and right motion. And it worked, imagine...

Good job on fixing the switch! I've got one switch that came out of the 310 that's not working. I think I'll dig into it and see if I can do the same thing.

In my spare time of course....
