Looking at a 1992 Airstream 300LE motorhome

It looks like it's in decent shape for it's age. Has the 454 with the Banks System. It has the rear island queen and mid toilet and separate shower.
Most everything works except a couple of switches on the dash which blow a breaker.
Tried to get it smogged but the smog fellow couldn't get the timing right. The owner said it has to do with the Banks but the fellow said it should have nothing to do with timing. So we passed but recently the owner told me he got it smogged at his usual place, which was not open the day I looked at it.
Asking $23,000 cash firm.
Is the price in the ballpark for these, and should I be wary of issues with this model or year?

Sound about right, but quality and service records are everything.....plus that is only your initial down payment

Wondering if the coach you are thinking about could be SebastSF 's old rig?

Sure would be nice as he was very into the keeping of his rig.

Cheers Richard

Not even close; SebastSF sold his beautiful 300 for a lot more change than that.

$23,000 would be a very good price for that size and year if it's in decent shape but you want to get the subfloor checked especially underneath windows. If it's in good shape, buy away and enjoy. The 300 along with the 310 (centre baths) and all single axle AS moho's are the ones to buy and keep.

Boomsounds is right; the initial purchase price is just the down payment, but parts are plentiful mechanically, and relatively cheap.

Cheers
Tony

Ok, well I bought it and I've started a new thread to blog my experiences in it. Thanks for the insight.
