Congratulations Buttercup. Those 345's are beautiful units. If I were handy enough to buy a seasoned unit and had gone for a motorhome, that's the model I would have wanted. I especially like the looks of the tandem axles. It sure looks long in the photograph.

you've gotten yourself a real gem. these 345's are just a whole heap of fun to drive and camp in. any opportunity you have you'll be driving your silver bus.
im getting me a full tank of gas tomorrow before this yoyo economy bumps mid grade back up again.

the pieces to make mine go ding ding are still there, somewhere. it's on the list.

Buttercup - We're nuts over our 345LE too and I was so tripped out over the doorbell, it became the first thing I liked to share. What is with the Mouse count?

The doorbell was the icing on the cake for sure. I have been reading and going over things My wife and I find on the internet to educate myself more fully on our baby (yet to be delivered). I can't wait to pick her up!

The mouse count is the number of mice that met their untimely demise in the steely teeth of my traps. That number does not reflect the ACTUAL number of mice removed, only those since I started counting.

congrats tim! i didn't even know about this transaction until i saw the check in your hand on sunday and i was wondering what you were buying. i wish i got a tour of the 345 but i never did. but now i get a second chance to see it at casini and try that doorbell for myself. i think the 345 fits you and kimber to a tee. congrats again and i hope you get her home soon.

Meeska-mooska-

We have a solution for the mouse count...bring it up to Silverton for a week in the winter(after winterizing), and you'll have mousecicles, but no more mouse problems

O.K. an update. We have a name and a date. We are scheduled to pick her up on the 7th of November. We plan on having an overnight shakedown and then a 5 hour ride home.
As for a name - We have chosen (are you ready???)

Airtini

We will try to get that as a license plate. Yes, there is already a corresponding beverage to go with that name which I will be happy to serve to anybody who requests one.

Big Dee - Casini looks to be out of the question for us. My work schedule is so bad now that I would have to take more time off than I have just to do all of the things that we have in front of us. Something had to give and regretably it was Casini. Heck, I have to take time off to go to Jackson in 2009.
But if things change somehow for us, we may just show up....

too bad about casini. agreed: not enough time. i've just decided to take off max time this year and am wondering if i'll hear about it. anyway remember there's always room at casini for last minute arrivals.

1987 Air Stream 345

I have owned my 345 since March of this year. I haven't found anybody around my area that knows anything about them. Is there a special club or what ever for the older classic Air Streams motor homes? How may of them are there? I see so much stuff for the trailers but very little about the classic motor home. I would like to find someone to show me around it. I am finding new things everytime I use it. Also MY DOORBELL DOES NOT WORK. ha ha

I joined the East TN unit and WBCCI #3963. Nobody has a classic motor home. I'm the only one at our rallies. Everybody comes over to look at it.

I also have a 1976 Palm Beach GMC. They have a special registration so we know how many are still running. Also everyone know how to work on them.

James,
We looked a long time and at several AS MoHos before we settled on ours('89 345 LE)...we bought it in Cookeville, TN...the original # was 5990
The PO's still maintain that #, so I would guess that you could contact them for local advice/help...mike
