ITT-Jabsco/Rayline Searchlights info

My 345 did not have one but I wanted one!

Picked up one off Ebay, that was sold as non working, and figured out the wiring and thought I would share.
It works!
Here is an example of the type of unit I have.
Searchlight head unit..

Control unit.

In case you have a non functional unit or just one function that is not working.
Removed the multipin plug from the back of the contol unit and proped the headunit pins with my Powerprobe 3...

There are 7 wires from the control unit to the head unit...

3 x thicker gauge wires are for the light:
Black= - or Earth/Ground
Orange: + for Spotlight function
Grey: + for Floodlight function

4 thinner gauge wires for movement.

Green and Brown control up and down function:
Up: + to green and - to brown
Down: - to green and + to brown

Yellow and Blue control left and right function:
Right: + to yellow and - to blue.
Left: - to yellow and + to blue.

I found mine had a bad connection at the bulb... which was not the correct unit, and also a pinched wire on the up/down.
Fixed that and it works great!
Only thing I need is a new rubber gasket for the headunit...

Congratulations -- What a find! Would love one of these for my boat. I think these are stainless steel, and it should last a long, long time on your motorhome.

I've been following all your postings and you are doing one heck of a job. Congrats on finding the cool light. Great that you were able to get it working too!

Thanks Peeps!
Gotta love my PowerProbe 3!

That wire schematic is important for diagnostics.

Same spot as we have, except the control looks more modern. The bulbs are generally available from boating supply houses. It's a GE 4700 on mine.
