Good question John, I am not the original owner, but I bought it from the original owner's wife. I like it myself....the air dam that is. I'll take a closer look and see if it looks original or it was added on. Regards, Bob. This week I will be replacing the screens in the entry door, re-installing the front furnace, start on the dashboard wiring, and finish the engine mounted fire suppression sprinkler heads.

That's a good question John, I bought the motorhome from the original owner's wife, I kinda like it myself, The air dam that is, I will take a closer look and let you know if it looks original or may have been an add on, Regards, Bob. This week I am planning on finishing up the front furnace install or should I say re-install, the engine fire suppression sprinkler heads, the dashboard wiring and some other small items.

Bob, What is that gizmo in the center of your front bumper? Is that a step to wash the windshield? I have been tooling with the idea of doing something along those lines.

So I'm getting the finishing touches done before the "Get-Together". Since the previous owner had the front furnace replaced it required a different exit and entrance on the exterior wall, which produced a cob job patch work that took me almost a year to replace back to original. Since the replacement Surburban furnace was higher they took the lowest drawer out....what a mess. Now all back to original....finally !Click image for larger version

Fire suppression finally done ! And tested....84' of 3/8" steel line with 38 fitting connections....only 2 leaks which were connections that I forgot to tighten. I will do a 24 hour leak down test this Sunday and re-charge the AFFF tank with nitrogen after it passes Click image for larger version

Being that it takes an act of Congress to get the screen door off.....I am now an expert (self-described) at replacing screens. Being that the second week of May might bring some black flies i want to make sure all the screens are in good shape. I did all the window screens last year when I replaced the gasket material around all the sliding windows, but the entry door was in dire need. It is all done now and I even have a new tool which I don't sell to add to my arsenal. Fire suppression system is now a go, tonight I will re-install the curtains, start to clean the carpets etc. Next Saturday is the double road test...rain or shine, also will take an accurate fuel mileage check to see if anything changed with the addition of the seven blade fan or new radiator. Regards, Bob

Bob,

The extent to which you have refurbished, rebuilt, repaired, replaced, restored; then checked and rechecked, and tested and retested virtually everything on your moho is starting to make me wonder what the odds are of my 370 making it to the rally and back without incident.

I bought my coach almost two years ago, and have barely had a chance to touch it. (Although I did coerce the fellow that cleaned the carpets at my restaurant into giving the shag a quick once over while I went into the office to write him a check.)

The other day I took the first step toward getting rally prepped by filling the water tank and trying to flush some antifreeze. Needless to say, the filler hose leaked, as did the hand sprayer at the galley sink, and the associated under cabinet sink drain. Perfect; everything is going according to plan. Can't wait to try the toilet.

On the bright side, my confidence has been bolstered by the knowledge that my rugs are less likely to be the cause of any roadside surprises!

I'm really looking forward to seeing all the work that you've done in person.

Charly

Hey Charly, not to worry....it's just what I like to do when I'm not running my business, I call it stress relief ! I have never seen a 370 in person so I am really looking forward to seeing the Gillig chassis and the Ford powertrain. You'll notice at Pennwood I have you parked next to me so I don't have to walk far !.... Only kidding that's just the way the motor homes got laid out by year. See you in a couple of weeks, Regards, Bob

You know what will happen Bob; you will get your 325 'perfect' and then a 350 will pop up on the Classifieds, like this one

I'm on a 3 year re-build with mine anyway...next winter will be the body work including new windshield gasket, striping off the old clear coat, removing all the tape stripes and repainting and clear coating. If the correct 350LE comes along to soon I may have to sell the 2007 396XL...no more room in the shop.

I put 192 miles on the 325LE yesterday...two road tests, one without the dolly and one with. The temperature never went above 200 even towing the chevy cruze up the 12 mile incline. Lost the tachometer halfway through the day...might just be the wire coming off the distributor, will check that today. filled all the tanks with the clorox solution to sanitize them but discovered that my new water pump is not working, the motor was real hot, so I unplugged it, I will remove it today...I have a spare, but I think something might be jamming the gears and preventing it from turning. Will post my results later. Regards, Bob

I found out that the 55AQUAJET-ARV-B 5.3 pump that I purchased in 10/14 is shot. I guess it doesn't like being stored in a heated shop.....It is still under warranty so I am not even going to touch one screw on it. I have replaced it with my back up unit but will order a replacement this morning and hope to get it by Friday so I can get it in for the trip to PA. next week. Toilet hand sprayer also had a leak so that is on the list as well. Other than that all systems are a go for the trip. Regards, Bob

Just so you all know...Remco's warranty policy sucks...I bought a Remco Aquajet 55 in 10/14 for the 325. I used the motor home 3 times in 2015 and the motor on the pump froze up due to rust from water leaking from the pump head into the motor....they have a two year warranty and obviously it is no good. I bought the pump directly from them and paid top dollar. Just saying..........Regards, Bob

Are you serious Bob? Not good; not good at all. Did you try and go higher up the complaints tree branch as I find it takes a couple " I want to speak to you supervisor" before I usually get satisfaction. The underlings go by the corporate script and are the corporate firewall, hoping you give up.

I'm going to be facing the same with my 12volt fresh water system as it to gave up the ghost this past weekend after only one season installed.

Cheers
Tony

I looked at the newer design pumps when I replaced mine. I also looked at replacing the Jabsco with the same style. Sure enough they still make a pump that is almost identical! They are selling them today for $500 to $600. If people are willing to pay that kind of money for them today there must be a reason for it. So I bought a rebuild kit for about $100 and rebuilt it. Pretty straight forward task. My hope is that it will last 35 more years.
