I put 192 miles on the 325LE yesterday...two road tests, one without the dolly and one with. The temperature never went above 200 even towing the chevy cruze up the 12 mile incline. Lost the tachometer halfway through the day...might just be the wire coming off the distributor, will check that today. filled all the tanks with the clorox solution to sanitize them but discovered that my new water pump is not working, the motor was real hot, so I unplugged it, I will remove it today...I have a spare, but I think something might be jamming the gears and preventing it from turning. Will post my results later. Regards, Bob

I found out that the 55AQUAJET-ARV-B 5.3 pump that I purchased in 10/14 is shot. I guess it doesn't like being stored in a heated shop.....It is still under warranty so I am not even going to touch one screw on it. I have replaced it with my back up unit but will order a replacement this morning and hope to get it by Friday so I can get it in for the trip to PA. next week. Toilet hand sprayer also had a leak so that is on the list as well. Other than that all systems are a go for the trip. Regards, Bob

Just so you all know...Remco's warranty policy sucks...I bought a Remco Aquajet 55 in 10/14 for the 325. I used the motor home 3 times in 2015 and the motor on the pump froze up due to rust from water leaking from the pump head into the motor....they have a two year warranty and obviously it is no good. I bought the pump directly from them and paid top dollar. Just saying..........Regards, Bob

Are you serious Bob? Not good; not good at all. Did you try and go higher up the complaints tree branch as I find it takes a couple " I want to speak to you supervisor" before I usually get satisfaction. The underlings go by the corporate script and are the corporate firewall, hoping you give up.

I'm going to be facing the same with my 12volt fresh water system as it to gave up the ghost this past weekend after only one season installed.

Cheers
Tony

I looked at the newer design pumps when I replaced mine. I also looked at replacing the Jabsco with the same style. Sure enough they still make a pump that is almost identical! They are selling them today for $500 to $600. If people are willing to pay that kind of money for them today there must be a reason for it. So I bought a rebuild kit for about $100 and rebuilt it. Pretty straight forward task. My hope is that it will last 35 more years.

I will diagnose the front furnace issue on Sunday...would have been nice if it worked all weekend but gave up the ghost on Saturday morning at the get together. The new rear Atwood 40,000 BTU worked well enough but the front was chilly.....i need to put some isolation valves in so I can service these items on the road with out shutting everything else off....definitely a learning curve. On another note my 2014 Chevy Cruze diesel that would not start T the get together is still on my lift at home...I think the diesel filter is plugged so I am waiting for one to be delivered from Rock Auto...more over the weekend...Regards, Bob

I have found the 370LE of my dreams.....Thanks to Charly for pushing me over the edge on this one at the Get-Together. If this deal goes down I will be putting the 2007 396XL up for sale in July. Reagrds, Bob

Update on the Cruze....First vehicle i have ever had to have towed to the dealership....Thank you Good Sam roadside plan...I worked on the Cruze for 2 weeks....changed Factory fuel filter drained tank re-filled with fresh diesel..... It would start...run 2 seconds and die over and over again....The dealer called me on Friday, they had it since Tuesday, and their mechanic said he thought it had a contaminated tank of fuel and that it would take 4 hours to drain the tank and re-fill it $484.00....I told them they could do that but I had already done that and if their diagnosis didn't fix it i wasn't going to pay for it. I told them they might want to look at the immobilizer circuit or check for an open EGR valve. Bottom line is i have decided to get rid of the car....I certainly don't want a car that I cannot repair on the road. Had we not had the dolly I would have had to have it towed to a chevy dealership near Penn Wood only to have to return to pick it up when it was repaired. I also don't want to have to carrty thousands of dollars worth of diagnostic equipment with me to repair a car while i am on vacation...Will keep you posted on what the dealership finds out.....but a new Chevy Volt is definitely in my future.....Regards, Bob

Bob, is the 370 you found the 1989 listed in the classified in North Carolina? I thought that one looked like a sound unit.

Bob,

Sorry to hear about your frustrations. I was very excited your cruze was a diesel, and thought I'd watch them for the next five years to see how they do. I like to buy cars at about 5-10years old, and drive them until they fall apart. I always keep an eye out for the next family car, and was hoping the Cruze might be it. Well on the plus side, at least I know to steer clear of it. Currently we are enamored with the looks of the veloster, and the potential of a Smart. I have considered a 4-door wrangler, but find them uncomfortable with the top on. Will see.
