If he does the diesel conversion on that 370, then it probably would pull that trailer!

We arrived at the International rally today around noon. Of my,,,,,,talk about aluminum...it's going to take me three days just to look at them all. To hot to walk around this afternoon...about 93 outside. Have seen three classics so far, 2, 345's and a 360 gasser. A great ride coming down I 81, but I 88 sucks, we are done with I 88 for a while, been under construction for at least the last 8 years that I have been driving it. Regards, Bob

We are wedged into this lot tighter than sardines....no kidding, all first timers are in this gravel lot parked no farther than 8' apart. Across the street are the nice grassy spots with larger sites. I wish I had known...I feel the $500.00 plus dollars for this event was not worth it.Click image for larger version

For all those interested...Airstream has a store open here. They have solar dome covers, bathroom/shower power fan assemblies and more.. Anyone who attended the "Get-Together" let me know if you want me to get anything for you. regards, Bob

Bob,

Man oh man…. $500 to park in full sun, on gravel, while it's 90 plus degrees, in the midst of all that? Yikes. It looks like an over crowed RV dealership parking lot. Or are they reenacting a Wally Byam caravan across the Sahara? Maybe basic training for Burning Man?

Stop goofing around, and go get that 370!

So, just what IS the main attraction at the International Rally? Ive never been so Im asking. Is it mainly the social gathering part of it? Are there workshops or seminars on things that you would actually learn stuff, seems like you would be conducting a few rather than attending them. Or just the cool factor of that many rigs in one place at the same time?

You hit the nail right on the head Mike, I generally consider myself to be unsociable (LOL), the cool factor is all of the aluminum in one place. At least we can say we went to one...there is a definite difference between trailer and motor home Airstreamers....incidentally I have already repaired one GMC truck since being here, and go figure, a 2015 with an EGR problem on a Duramax. I brought along a Snap-On scanner with me this time, wish I had it at our reunion ! So after 3 days of being here we will weather out the rest of the week but I will be focusing my efforts on future Classic motor home get-togethers for all interested. Might I even suggest another this fall ????

The International Rally is primarily a business meeting according to what I have read, for folks who want to engage with like-minded people. A very specific purpose for a limited audience IMO.

I asked Debbie if she would make some Anti-Mind probing hats to ward off some of the questions that people have a tendency to ask but she thought that would be in bad taste !

Yup, It's like power boaters and sail boaters; both ply the same waters but seldom mix. Not that they're nasty about it, but moho's are generally looked upon as "post Wally world".

Good luck with the 370 look see.

Cheers
Tony
