Isuzu Diesel Alternator wiring diagram

My alternator is overcharging the batteries, I need a schematic of the Alternator wiring to troubleshoot the problem. The replacement Regulator ECHVR55O IS $50 I'd rather be sure it is bad before I buy the replacement.

Does anybody have a schematic of the alternator/regulator setup on the Turbodiesel 6BD1-T equipted MH?

Mine is an 1982 280

I believe the regulator is inside the alternator as most all are these days .
if so ,i would pull it off and have the unit checked at an alternator rebuilder.
have you checked the alt output voltage (most likely) to see what it is ?
any external wiring to your alternator should not be able to cause it to overcharge ,usually you will have a plug with a wire for the dash light ,another for the key on only power and then one for the full time 12volt
power ,so 3 wires at one plug at the back of the alternator .Of coursed then
your main alternator output lead connection .If is overcharging the regulator
most likely is faulty and needs to be replaced ,although having it tested on
the bench to confirm never hurts either .

Thanks for the reply, but I have a seperate regulator, hence the part number listed in my first post. the alternator is outputing over 17volts which could mean a voltage sense wire is bad, but which wire is which is what I need to know. Thanks, Art

Spend the $50.00 and replace the regulator. I had the same thing but did not catch it before it blew out any and everything 12V which was running at the time. Seems my Alt gauge was not registering correctly. So here's your choice, $50.00 for a regulator or $2,000.00 plus to replace everything which will blow, you decide.
