Isuzu 6bd1a oil filter conversion kit to canister

Hello All: I have a 1982 Excella diesel with the Isuzu isuzu 6bd1a engine. Has anyone converted the old oil filter to a modern twist on canister. Would love the convenience but having no success located a kit.

Any help greatly appreciated, best to all! Dave

Can't answer your question. I do recall seeing a post from a member whose turbo got cooked when a shop installed the filter upside down, so be careful with what you've got.

It is a commercial engine that has been out of production for years so there is little interest for the aftermarket to provide a conversion. It is not really difficult to change as the canister has a drain. It is more difficult to change the secondary fuel filter on the front of the engine and even more fun to get to the grease fitting on the water pump. It's just part of owning a classic Airstream moho with an Isuzu.

If these maintenance jobs concern you, never ever look under the dash.
