Indoor Motorhome Storage

We are planning an Airstream hangar.

While we do not own a motorhome yet, I am strongly considering building the hangar with the capability to accommodate a classic motorhome.

For those of you whom have one, what is the minimum clearance height?

Will a MH fit in a 10' door?

Airstream's specs list the 80s Classics at 10'8" including the AC shroud, the '90s diesel-pusher "last hurrah" Classics are listed as 10'4".

Also, invariably, you'll either "need" something else later, or end up with come one-off version that's taller, etc. Sounds like a 12' door is a good starting point.

It is so much easier to have a door much larger than you need than it is trying to fit through one that is too small. The smallest doors in my shop are 12' wide and 12' high. There have been more than a few times that I wished I had a 13' or 14' high door. Letting air out of the tires to get through the door is not fun.

My shop door is 10' wide by 11' tall. Height is not an issue when pulling into the shop for our 310. You do have to watch the sides though, I don't believe the width spec for the motorhome includes the mirrors. There are several inches to spare on each side of the mirrors when pulling into the shop.

So your minimum door finished opening size is 10' wide and 11' tall.
