Hinged wall to expand bathroom ? Option or retrofit

I read in a thread were someone mentioned a hinged wall, toilet closest I believe? That expanded the area into one room including the shower, Hall and toilet, sink area ? Is this correct?

Does anyone have this option or has anyone retrofitted their unit.

does this eliminate the wooden door that closes off the salon area???

Thank you for pictures, or a lead to a thread that discusses this option

John

On the Cumberland this weekend !!!

It was in here

I just saw the discussion. It was in the 21' Sovereign threads and discussing a "knee knocker" solution. Ref the door on the toilet. The hinged panel was on the door and when opened expanded the toilet area into a square private enclosure. Only one picture included and not to clear.

John, it is easy to make the hinged door on the toilet/sink compartment into the thing you have described - - at least it was on our '84 310 Limited. The door opens across the hall and almost completely blocks the hall opening from the kitchen. A very small piece of wall extending out from the shower side, and a method of latching the hinged door open, and you have it. Best of luck, and keep the ideas flowing.

thinking of how you describe the wall extension ! that is the way our 89 345 was manufactured. there is a cabinet stop, latch to secure the door open to the sink, toilet area next to the shower and screening Off the salon area.

I thought maybe the hall wall, next to the toilet was altered to open ? Or be removed for a One Room open area ??? !!!

Sweet if only a single individual used the coach ! or a couple.

I have the 25 FB - and when the bathroom door is open it almost totally screens the "view" from the living/kitchen area. If the door were 2 inches wider, it would literally get rid of any need for the rear folding door as it would literally be stopped open by the closet handle.

I live alone, so I rarely use the folding door dividers except when my sister PrudencePB is visiting.

Our 310 limited has the same arrangement with the bathroom door. It has a catch at the top that connects to a socket on the wall by the microwave. We also have an accordion style of door between the bathroom door and the bedroom. Makes for a small bath area when both are closed.

Talking hinged wall to expand bathroom

For what its worth, our 90 LY MH has such an arrangment in the bathroom. I had assumed a PO was a frustrated carpenter!

If you go by an Airstream Dealership, and you look in side the Interstate MOHO, they do what you are asking about. It could be done way better than how they did, it is not even water resistant....lol
