On the Banks kit...well, I notice the smoke out e tailpipe is not as black. I don't notice any increase in power, and mileage is not known yet. At idle, I notice more vibrations. We cruise at 65 to 70 on the flat freeway and it handles great. We end up slowing down with the faster trucks on hills. I have not upgraded the exhaust yet, and think I can probably still get some performance out of it yet. Nice to have the pyrometer.

Made it back home with no issues to speak of...minor ones like replacing a board on one of the furnaces (a 2 minute repair) and a repair on a slow tire leak. Still need to fix the dash heat!

Pulled over for a short break, and ran into an old timer in a 290. I told him to check out the forums, but he had no ideas how to get on the Internet. Thought for a moment it was Dean!

Here is a question for you fellow Classic owners- why is there an open grill in the front? Water, snow and dust just gets blown in. Have any of you closed this area off?
I have house batteries up front, this is stock, and I understand the weight up front is good for the ride?

Second question- I just picked up a 2000w inverter/ charger and I'm trying to figure out the best place to install it. The existing charger is in the passenger footwell, but I don't thing there is space there for the new Magnum unit. I could put it up front, and have access to the DC and an AC run back to somewhere. I could also put it on the back, and I think there is a DC wire run from the voltage isolator to the front house batteries that charges them from the alternator, then I need to figure out the AC, and just tie in the minimal loads I would run off an inverter.

Any ideas appreciated!

Mine has an aluminum plate over it. I've been thinking about building an air box with cabin air filter to use ram air for cooling on the road. It would feed the heater/ac box.
