Fuel scrubbing?

Been working on the 350LE. Now that the fuel gage works, I find that I have almost a full tank of gas, which has been sitting for 6-7 YEARS. Why it has been parked for that long is, well, a long story. I have several questions--

Can anyone tell me the gas tank capacity? I cannot remember.

Do I dare trying to use this fuel? I do not remember if I put fuel stabilizer in it when it was parked. I have no easy way to inspect it to see if it has begun to turn to varnish.

Has anyone had any experience with having fuel scrubbed, tank cleaned, etc.? I know this is relatively common on boats, but one of the companies I called has told me that they have never done a RV--and they might have to take the tank out to get it cleaned--surely difficult with close to 500 lbs of fuel in it.

Best to all,
Rob

You'll probably have to siphon the gas out of the tank then drop it to clean it out. 6-7 year old gas, even with fuel stabilizer=no good. Since it probably had ethanol in it it probably absorbed some water so you may have some corrosion in there too.

I have diesel, and drained about 20 gallons from a 1/4 drive nut under the tank.

For old gasoline, I have had good luck with a fuel stabilizer and sea foam
