Front Clearance Lights

We are leaving on a short trip today and while getting Chummy ready this week I decided to try and fix the front clearance lights. These have never worked, I am talking about the ones over the front window. All the lamps are in good working condition, but no power to sockets. In the hood compartment are two sockets on each side, each are live and not connected. They are spliced into the headlight wiring and placed along the outside edge of the body about midway or just below the windshield. I can see no place that they can plug in to. I even shined a bright light inside and searched. The wiring diagram shows that the clearance lights are wired through the post on the windshield. Does anyone know about these plugs?

I may be wrong here, but I had 'a little bother' with mine and it was the relay on the ICC switch.

Only one dirty connection but if you have one its worth a try. It is up under the dash left of the ignition switch. That is, of course, if mine has been put in the correct place. My beast was uprated to the 84 dash a while back so it has all been "suck-it-and-see"....

A good friend - who was plant mgr at AS for years once told me that the wiring (and other) diagrams published for these MoHo were "generic" - each one was wired by an individual, who mostly did what was convenient at the moment. So don't put too much faith in that wiring diagram. The best way is to try putting some temporary 12v on those wires and see if the lights light.
