Floors in a classic Motorhome

Justin,

Thanks for this - it is really helpful. I need to fit seatbelts in the back of my 1991 250. Any chance you could let me know how easy it is to identify the chassis frame underneath the dinette? I'm assuming this is also covered by the aluminium sheet. I will need to take up the dinette and get the lapbelts attached through the floor to the chassis. Any help of pictures of this would be a huge help. Also, any guidance on where the steel chassis lies under the aluminium - is it easy to see this? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

PS Fantastic job - nice one!

Seat belts

Ok My suggestion is to drill from underneath to get your points however I would not put seat belts in to the dinaette area... the couch has them however it is more firmly attached ....False wall.JPG here is a pic of where the dinette was in my my MH I ripped it out... I have all the parts... However you need to look at where you want your seat belts and measure out
then I would drill through a frame rail....

The Seat belts at the couch area are just drilled though the plywood and aluminum skin.... So it just depends on where you want them

Hi Justin,

One more thought on this - have you got any photos of the exposed side ribs by the settee and/or dinette? I gues we would be interested in spacing between fibs, width of ribs and any differences from the trailers.

thanks

I do not however you can locate the wall ribs by the lines of rivets on the walls and you can look directly underneath the Rv for your ribs...

Amen the floor is done!

Ok this has been a pain however I finally have the floor done now so time to share some pictures.. Now originally I put the floors long wise however with the Bamboo flooring I got as the floor shifts the bamboo will seperate and cause gaps.. so Cursing I did the floor the other direction..

To be honest although there is more wood waste.. going across the motohome you can get a much better fit and it takes much less time...

I did have to replace a few pieces that decided to warp on me after install and I pulled them out before putting in the new false wall

The new wall where the dinette used to be will have a new table, the light switches will be condenced and there will be room for speakers once done.. the wall is connected to the ribbing and aluminum skin and not connected to the floor....

I have also repainted the inside of the RV asimg063.jpgimg062.jpg well...img059.jpgimg057.jpgimg060.jpgimg061.jpg
