I am not sure about the Pink Flamingo origin either, I just know I have to have some for the Airstream!

In addition to LOL, there is lol, which is less intense than LOL. There is also RIFL, which means "Roll in the Floor Laughing." I am a member of another forum (for Disney, see signature below for explanation) and they have a page set up with all of the acronyms used in that forum. Maybe we should set one up here. They also have a number of Smilies including two different versions where the smilie is rolling back and forth laughing.

Flamingo Migration

The pink flamingoes have landed in Hawaii - I didn't know they could travel that far!

During a middle-of-the-night escapade, these were placed in front of our Bambi as a surprise. I would say they are happy with their view.

Fred and ethel are our main Flamingos. They are the plasticc type with the wire legs. They are our daytime guardians. At night, we have Francine, our neon Flamingo.

Our flamingoes serve the purpose of guarding "Twinkie II" while we are away. They guard the outside premises while my wife's six large Pound Puppies guard the inside. Security doesn't get any better than this!

Oh thats funny. I have camped with two Pink Flamingos named Fred and Ethel for 20 years. Those two have been through all styles and modes of camping and are now very happy to be in an Airstream.

Flamingos....

Chuck -

I posted them out in front of SilverToy one morning since I thought - "What the heck, they are cute! People will think they are funny and come up and talk to us about them. We'll get to know the folks as friends and it'll go from there.

Well, everywhere I go with those 2 birds, they pack the crowds with regularity. Up they go, and ten minutes later I am overrun with people asking every known question to man about them......

So I too need to know the origin on the Flamingos! The Forum WILL COME THRU!!!!!! I am sure of it....

Heck I like to position them in poses around the unit with tools and such. They are fixing it right???.... On not!

I'll bet my last dollar that they come around "since there is just the loveliest group of poeple that come around in these Silverry lookin thinggys." Animal attractionism!!!!!!!!!!!! The silver helps too!!! I think.

Not that this was any help in even the most tangential way..... but there you go non-the-less. Hope it help with a chuckle or 2.

Waiting for the Mensa crowd to speak up here.....

I wait with great expectancy!!!!!

Axel

Thankful the Pink Flamingo has gone through some 'plastic surgery' over the years.

Here is one our friend made this summer... I bet is a bit more 'kick proof'

Update, while at Jackson Center in July we bought a pair for our Airstream travles. We also have a set of Pink Flamingo lights for the awning. I also saw one that I wanted to get but haven't yet. It is a plant stand with planting tools in its wings. I have a link somewhere.

It started back in the 50s.
Was considered yard art back then...not for your camper, for your house!

They became so tacky, that now they are so far out, there back in.

Now when used at a campsite is a sign of total relaxsation...
Your in a different state of mind...
A different world...
Not nessasarly the 50s, just not in the rat race.
