Electrical Problems on a '94 Classic diesel pusher

Just got our '94 Classic diesel pusher MH out of storage for a trip. It had been put up for two weeks, and the batteries were disconnected. We reconnected both the coach and engine batteries, and the coach started without a problem. When we got home, the hydraulic levelers wouldn't drop. The panel lights came on, and we could hear sounds from the levelers, then the low battery indicator on the leveler panel came on, and nothing further would happen. The levelers did not extend. Thinking it was due to low coach batteries, we tried to start the generator, only to find it will not start. We left the MH plugged into shore power over night, with no better results. When unplugged, the test panel is dark, but the cabin lights work, water pump and fridge all work. When on shore power, the test panel works, and the battery panel lights shows full charge. Tester shows current coming out of the batteries. We are stymied! Has anyone had experience like this, or have suggestions for a solution?

On my 310, the generator starts off the chassis battery. I dont have levelers. Are they typically run off the coach batteries or chassis battery?

Success . sometimes it is just too simple. The connection after the shutoff switch on the house batteries was just a little bit loose. cleaned and tightened it and everything is working well.

Heck, that was just to darn easy!

I gotta admit it's always nice when it turns out to be something simple.

Wooohooo. I had a rear turn signal acting up last weekend. The inside and outside lights on the cluster were flashing alternately. Supposed to flash together. I immediately thought that it HAD to be a bad ground somewhere because of how weird it was. Sure enough, pulled the bulbs and there was just enough white corrosion on the outside of the bulb base it wasnt grounding properly. Cleaned em up and used some dialectric grease, bingo! Another one, TOO EASY.

I've seen more problems caused by battery disconnect switches that they have cured. I use latched power solenoids. They require 12 volts to switch on and off but draw 0 current when magnetically latched on or off. Only way to go in my book.

I had some very odd electrical problems with my 94 diesel just before a long planned road trip. Turned out to be he battery combiner switch on the dashboard in the on or "combined" position.
