my door was sagging the hinges worn out,so i cut small nuts open and somehow hammered them in,a few of them,enough to pull the door up so it would close properly,to this day they are still there and it works top and bottom....voila

Small nuts? You mean like Spanish Peanuts? Sorry, the smarta#$ in me made me do it. Actually I did the same thing to my hinges a year ago except I used plastic washers. It does help a lot but I already have the new hinges just waiting to be installed so installed they will be.

door hinges

Metal washers,yes that is what i meant,english is not my first language so sometimes i get words mixed up.....which in turn makes room for good jokes,funny comments etc ...and i keep my sense of humour

I try not to be a smarta#$ too often. It's just so hard not too though. I thought you probably meant washers... I couldn't imagine nuts so thin you could fit more than one in the gap in the hinges. The point is though that this is a good fix and will help a lot of people whose doors are hard to shut and it only costs a couple of bucks not $150 (something close to that amount?, I bought mine over a year ago) like new hinges do.
