Different nose?!? 350LE
He guys and girls,
Thanks for the acceptation, i'm Dennis and living in the dutch Caribbean antillen. I have just a quick question.. I always owned a Argosy 26Ft, and just bought a Airtstream 350LE 1991. I noticed that there is a difference in the exterior... The angle of the grill and headlights are different from the motorhomes. And even between 350's from the same year! Can someone tell me why? Is it because they are hand made? Mine is on the picture in the left upper corner, and you can see that the grill is almost vertical, the two in the bottom are having a bigger angle, and the nose looks sharper... Just curious
Thanks Dennis

Optical illusion........the nose of all pre 1994 Classics are the same, (as far as anything handmade can be the same), with a possible width difference with the 370's on the Gillig chassis.
Cheers
Tony

Not so fast Tony...
This discussion has been raging on FB, and there is some evidence that seems valid.
You may be right, but I have looked at multiple pictures and there does seem to be some differences!

Maybe this is linked to the change in banana wraps/center section to incorporate the chin spoiler?
I suspect the parts used for the grille are the same but the performed fenders were slightly different, so everyone is correct.
For what it's worth the pre-face lift grilles were also more 'pointed', with the edge go the grilles sloping backwards. My original plan was to use the grille from my parts donor on Bella but it would have required new fenders. Luckily not using them for Bella meant they were available to repair Peanut.

Wel there you go, another WTF head scratcher change at Airstream; those line boys must have been going out of there minds trying to build these things.
Reminds me of the last meet when I pulled in beside John and his 325 at a Wallmart, where I could have sworn I had a longer wheelbase than him. John was adament that I was just seeing things and all P30 Airstreams had the same wheelbase. It wasn't until the meet that mehes came up with tables showing all the possible wheelbases available to the P 30 chassis; right up to 208" long. Imagine his surprise when he measured mine and it was 217", then John's at 199".
I stand corrected if this is the case. Unfortunately Dave with his 91 350 couldn't make the meet or we would have maybe picked up on that.
Cheers
Tony

Thank you all!
I think there all slightly different, i'm a navy engineer and sailed on all kind off ships. And even there is a difference in the length en curving of the ship from the same classes. Sometimes even a couple of meters.
If you look at the floorplans from the attachment (300 & 350 model) you see also that the curving from the nose is different drawn.
Mine 350 Le was standing near a other 350 and the angle of the nose from mine was almost verticle.... even so much difference that i was thinking that mine was refitted, but it never had a accident so...
So indeed a head scratcher (lol)
