Talking Enough, enough.

Man, you guys are cruel. 3+ feet of snow in the last 2 days and another foot on its way. The Silver Slug is 50 miles away on the other side of chain controls. Its parking spot has got several feet of snow covering it and I just spent an hour on my tractor clearing the drive well enough for the Yukon to make it out, I don't know if the Scion could get out.

Day 2 of Rewiring Another set back!!

Well day two is over and I have another set back. I must say the wiring is starting to make sense and I have realized that most of the wires are actually for the lights to the gauges and not the gauges themselves. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to turn on the ignition and check some of the wiring. If that goes OK i will start it up. My fix with the wipers and headlight switch worked well. Now I need to purchase a deep set socket to tighten the nut. My setback for today is the ignition switch. I forgot to rout out that back side of the oak for the switch assembly to set into. What I will need to do is try and lay on my back with the router and carefully enlarge the circle which will be above my head. This little trick will be done about 7:00 AM CST> If anyone wants to offer prayers at that moment it will be appreciated.
First picture is of repaired panel with headlight and wipers installed. Second picture is what 6 more hours of wiring looks like.

Chaplain Kent,
Nice job with the dash, but LOOK AT THAT HORN BUTTON!!!!! That has to be the coolest thing ever. Mine has only a small 1/4" patch of blue left on the bottom and I think the center of the "a" is all the white there is left.
Forgive me, but I covet thy horn button.....

The Finished Project!

I never thought I would be able to say this but I have finished my dashboard. Well almost, one bolt was a 1/2 short and I was too tired to get a new one today. Everything works and I think it looks great but of course I'm the one who did it. Would I ever attempt a project like this again? NO!

Now that it's over I'm certain you are glad to have done it. But it would have been nice if it didn't make you as crazy as it did in the process.
Nice job!
If you have the templates you could offer the easy way out for anyone else looking to do the same only ... different. Mimousa.com make very nice wood dash kits. With your template others with your dash layout could just order their choice of wood look dash overlays.
I just happen to have a MimoUSA vendor account if anyone is interested.
