Darn, I need a new windshield
I'm in Northern Georgia & am looking for a replacement. Can anyone recomend a good place? Does anyone know of any places I should stay away from? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

R.V. Glass Solutions will supply the glass and hook you up with a installer. I assume it's
a insurance job: we replaced both of ours and the cost was $2200.00 w/ labor. 888.777.6778
Sure is nice to have clear windshields, though!

There is an outfit that advertizes in most of the motorhome mags. They say they can supply a windshield for any motorhome. I checked a while back with them for our 345, and the price was not too bad. They set up the install with a glass shop close to you, or you can just buy the glass from them and do it yourself.

That windshield is an Airstream exclusive part.
You can order it thru a dealer and have it shipped wherever you wish.
You can pick your own installer.
You should also consider changing the gasket and gasket lock.
Installing a windshield in a gasket that has hardened over time, is risky.
Your insurance company will pay for a new gasket and gasket lock, with no problem.
With a new gasket, that's shaped like a figure 8, you will need 30 feet of gasket lock, and of course Vulkem sealer.

Hmmmmm. Does not speak well about warranty from the installer; I'd go R.V. Glass; they cover the whole
thing. Airstream can be a pain sometimes with their "you can only buy it from us" business.

Sorry Mike, I know how you feel.
Airstream windshields have never been available from other sources, going on 30 years.

Can anyone recommend a good windshield installer in the TX area?
I need a new passenger side windshield for a '84 310
I'd love to buy a salvage
RV glass said that by replacing the gasket and therefore removing both sides there is a possibility of cracking the other good side.
any ideas?

got my passenger side glass installed by rvglass they thankfully diddent have to replace the gasket but did take out both sides ...carefully. They sent someone out to my location who had knowledge of a/s curved windows. Yup, i recommend them... although it was expensive. 250$ install, and 3 week wait for the glass order and shipment....now on to installing the velvac mirrors.

Did the glass come from AS in Ohio? Or did it come from another vendor?
Inquiring minds want to know.
