Need some new tires on it first. They only have 8,000 miles on them but are 9 years old!

I flushed and bled the brakes this morning. It’s nice to have the right tools to do the job. Made it easy except it’s a pain to reach the rear bleeders. Haven’t test driven it yet. A massive thunderstorm came overhead. I was out holding the awning down until we had lightning directly overhead. Decided it to be best to go inside! It was like a good old Minnesota thunderstorm! I don’t think I’ve ever seen it rain so much here. Click image for larger version

Haven't you ever seen a motorhome plant thousands of rivets in the hope that some of them grow up to be travel trailers?

Bleeding brakes is my least favorite job
I might have to try one of those

Looks like a vacuum bleeder. Suggestion remove the bleed screw, clean as reqd and the wrap maybe 2-3 turns of Teflon tape on the THREADS ONLY. Reinstall.

The vacuum tool can pull air across the loosened bleed screw threads but by applying tape on those threads it can dramatically reduce the amount of wasted vacuum leaking past the threads. Improves vacuum effectiveness.

I was thinking was a pressure bleeder because of the airline hose connection.

Vacuum bleeders can have a problem where they suck air past seals
that are working perfectly well. The seals in breaking systems are
designed for pressure not vacuum.

I spotted their pressure bleeder it “looks” like a garden sprayer with attachments.

https://www.matcotools.com/catalog/p...eeding-system/

The pic above looks like this but is not showing the filler. This is vacuum based.

https://www.matcotools.com/catalog/p...-bleeding-kit/

As far as the comment that the vacuum system pulls air across good seals, if interested I suggest calling the tech support desk for the tool mfgr.

This is fairly far off of the topic because it applies to automotive pre filled clutch hydraulic release systems. They have existed on some pick ups since mid to late ‘80’s Ot so.

The method used by the OEM supplier of these pre filled pre bled systems uses vacuum to evacuate the complete release system then it allows brake fluid in to fill the completely vacuumed hydraulic system. No further bleeding required. Install and operate.

This is one area where I do know a little bit about these clutch hydraulic release systems.

I know it’s not brakes but it uses vacuum on a closed system, holds until spec is achieved and then the fluid fills it. Vacuum bleeding brakes is done on an open system, fluid can freely flow thru the circuit.

I do not claim brake system expertise.

They are called pressure bleeders. They hook up to shop air and they create a vacuum to suck brake fluid from the caliper or brake drum cylinders at each wheel. They are used by every professional auto technician in the business and have been for years. There are various versions and brands. I "stole" this one from my tool truck. Don't tell the boss, dam it! I sell a lot of them. They DO NOT damage seals nor brake components! Its an awesome tool to use for a one person operation!

Just make sure you don't let the master cylinder go dry!

In fact you will find in the coveted Chevrolet Motor Home Chassis Service Guide, they are listed as an option for bleeding brakes. Go figure!

Its 95 degrees in the shade at the ranch today. The roof A/C is keeping the MH at a "cool" 78 degrees. That is with all the windows covered and MH sitting in the sun. So I guess the A/C is working since they are all rated to only drop the ambient temp about 15 degrees. I hate it up here when the temps get to 115 for weeks on end.

No fires yet, but then the sun hasn't gone down yet for the idiots to come out with fireworks!

I'm hearing the rattle of a rattle snake in the brush just behind the MH once in a while. Not going to check it out since I've seen plenty of rattle snakes up here in the past. Oh fun!

Wow And I complain when it hits 90 here in Richmond!

Since we moved here back in late 2008 I don't know that the temps have gone above 100 more than a couple of times. For the past four or five years getting into the mid 90s is about it. Generally it's in the 80s.

There are about five AS trailers in the storage lot where I park my tool truck. This new one showed up a while back. It's beautiful looking. I see it every day and every day I'm jealous because I wish the exterior of my MH looked like this!

Get it right Brad; only Snap-on dealers have personal assistants to work on their personal Airstream fleets.[emoji6]

I totally forgot about my personal assistant. Come to think of it, where the hell has he been? Well you know what they say; if you want it done right, do it your self!
