Yes, I'm using Dupli-Color paints.

1. Scraped off any glue, etc.
2. Cleaned off dirt, etc. with wet cloth
3. Used Dupli-Color Prep-Spray to thoroughly clean all surfaces to be painted
4. Sprayed on three light coats of Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter (it's like a primer)
5. Painted with Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric paint RVP113 Medium Beige - three light coats

I chose the medium beige after some great feedback on the thread "Dash Color Experiment". It's almost a perfect match to the vinyl I used on the entertainment console.

I painted the dash inside my utility trailer with ramp open, but this stuff is still pretty nasty. I used a respirator I had gotten at Harbor Freight and it worked great!

Progress is slow today. Supposed to start raining this afternoon, so I'm working on some of those outside tasks...

Radiator filler neck painted and hose section replaced
Oil cooler hoses made up with reusable fittings and FINALLY installed!

Time to warm up my toes, have a beer and hope the rain holds off a bit longer.

Are you going to doing anything with the windscreen seals while the dash is out? That is if there is anything you can do without removing the glass.
I know mine look are looking tired.

What about the mess of wires inside the dash, or have you already address that?

Keep up the good work Dean. One day I'll escape this rat race and have time to do more of that sort of thing.

Thanks elbundi! The windshield seal is in great shape...it actually looks new. I know at least one of the windshields has been replaced in the past. There isn't anything you could do anyway even with the dash out. The seal looks good, but I do have a leak at the top somewhere. I siliconed it two winters ago, but it started to leak again this winter. If made an absolute mess out of it on the outside top edge, but I did what I had to do to stop the leak in the rain. Hopefully I can clean that up someday.

At one time, I was thinking of putting in new gauges and a new panel for the gauges with a nice veneer covering, but that is just too much to do at this time. My gauges work fine anyway. The contacts on the gauges where the light bulbs screw in are rusted and I'll try to remove some of that. Only one other connection is bad...the heater fan switch. It's a bit burnt and corroded. I'll fix that. But, yes the wiring looks like a mess. All I'm going to do is wire tie some to tiddy up what I can. I wouldn't suggest anyone do anything to the wiring unless you are rebuilding the instrument panel and you have lots of time to get everything wired correctly and working again.

For the time being, I have made that decision to leave the rat race, my health and family are more important to me! This is why I have so much time to devote to the MH right now. I have no idea what the future holds and I'm not even thinking about it at this time.

Defroster and a/c ducting is almost finished. I have used 12 feet of hose and I'm about a foot and a half short! I need to get creative...I'm not running down the mountain again just for defroster hose. There is that wet/dry vac hose out in the trailer and it is the correct diameter...I've got to get this dash back in, I'm tired of stumbling around it as it sits on the floor!

Lookin sharp!! Very nice work. I resprayed the vinyl pieces from my friends saab once, and it wasn't particularly easy to get a nice finish.

Thanks. I think it would not have turned out so good if I didn't remove the dash. I still have to do the instrument panel trim.

My to do list never seems to get smaller. Started replacing water pump fan clutch, belts and hoses today and found some play and noise in the water pump shaft. I ordered a heavy duty replacement and will have to head down the mountain tomorrow to pick it up.
