Cleaned out and prepped the rear bin for painting and re-installation of the air compressor. Replaced fuel tank filler hose and prepped area for installation of the new air tank. Also added new task to the never ending list...front hydraulic jack is leaking.

Got the air tank mounted today. That was about it for the day due to the rain...might snow tonight!

Yes, I do stay in it here. It is an ownership ranch, 14,000 acres, most of it back country. Been an owner here for 25 yrs now. We have 200 full hookup spaces...first come, first serve. Can put RV on a space for 90 days then must move off the property for 7 days, then can come back on and find an open space. Of course rv's and ATVing are much more popular today then 25 yrs ago, so we are having a real issue with not enough spaces. That's really due to the owners that figured out how to get around the rules by buying two shares and just swapping spaces with their buddies every 90 days...space squatters!

We have bunk houses (cabins) and a small motel as well, but sure is nice to have your own RV. We were going to get a large fifth wheel last yr, but decided to keep the AS280 and fix it up instead...couldn't part with Dad's Toy! Could still get a fifth wheel just for here, but sooner or later there is going to be a issue with our storage lot.

We have shower houses about as well which is good in winter since I have the MH prepped for winter. Might just shut drain valves and hook up water tomorrow though. Electric is covered in the annual assessment payment, so I have electric heaters going in the winter and ac going all summer. Elect must be disconnected when not here though.

I do use the furnace as well and ran out of propane night before last. We sell propane here on property, so I disconnected and drove MH about 500 ft up the hill and got propane today. RV spaces are not level here, but did a better job of leveling MH with large blocks under tires this time so I don't have to raise the jacks as much...had problem with closing the door over the last few days...all better now.

I think the front jack leaks when I extend it all the way...extending it very little now. I have the Power Gear jacks and I believe rebuild kits are still available for the jacks that I have. So may try to rebuild it next summer. Until then I'll just keep cleaning up the mess and topping off the tank with ATF. I did overfill the tank once because I checked and filled with jacks somewhat deployed...not a good thing of course!

My AS manual says there is a 82 pound and a 125 pound tank which is interesting since everyone fills by the gallon and not by weight. I'm assuming I have the 82 lb tank. I was completely empty and it took 24 gallons at $3.25/gallon, so $78.

Looks like you have the larger tank as it would be filled to 80% ??????
"How much propane is required to fill a propane tank?
80% of the actual capacity."
Dave

"100 pound propane tank will hold 23.58 gallon. 100 pounds / 4.24 pounds per gallon = 23.58 gallons"

Hi Dave. That makes more sense! I wasn't calculating the 80% fill. I agree, it's got to be the 125 lb tank. Thanks.

Sad news is, I bet her 45g of diesel takes you further than our 80g of gas!

If it helps anyone, both our fuel and propane were down to below 1/4 and we tanked in Phoenix on the way south. Took $160.00 diesel @ $3.92 (Safeway) and $80.00 propane @ $3.15. Getting rather pricey down here.
