Dadstoy is starting to nickel and dime me to death. Spent another $80 at OSH hardware yesterday. So, it's time to start reusing everything I can. The bolts clean up well with a wire wheel!

From what I'm gathering, we ALL should get used to the 'nickle and dime' part of owning an Airstream Classic Motorhome!
Thanks, Derek

Yup, another $29.55 at Home Depot today for some screws and a piece of wood molding!

Old Coleman A/C Ceiling Assembly Up For Grabs

Well, if you have been following my thread, you know I replaced my oldie Coleman 13.5 with a new Coleman 15 last summer. After getting the right knob and correctly wiring the switch (wondering if that was a China problem), It works great. My only small complaint is the taller cover on the roof. I got to paint that white a different color!

Anyway, I was saving the old a/c for my 20 foot toy hauler. I actually had it sitting up there for awhile. I just decided that I had too many projects going on and the reality is, I don't need it on the trailer. My buddy at my local RV parts and repair shop took it off my hands (V&V RV in Redwood City http://www.vvrvstrailers.com/). I still have the existing ceiling assembly and it is in good shape...it goes to the highest bidder! Just kidding, just pay for shipping!

Anyone want it? KeyAir if I remember correctly, yours was all cracked up...it's yours if u want it.

You are correct, and whilst I have spent a lot of time and MEK piecing mine back together, its still brittle and ugly!

If I remember from your pics, it is exactly the same...I was going to find a pic of yours, but just didn't have the energy to go through 51 pages of posts! LOL

Send me a pic of yours...can't find a pic of mine at the moment.

Who knew that owning an old Airstream would mean that I would have to learn to sew? It's only been close to a year since I started redoing the valances for the living area windows.

"Nickel and dime" is easy money. When we first bought Bess, it was "hundreds and thousands."

My mechanic restores old timers and turned me on to this company. The reinforcing fabric they make looks like a perfect material for abs repairs, not to mention stuff for our rusted-out belly pans!

Something you have to walk away for a day and start all over the next day.
