I've always had too much air come out of the two front furnace ducts in the salon and not enough air coming out of the longer duct runs to the bedroom and bathroom. I added a home made damper to the shortest front duct outlet at the furnace. I might do this to the second front duct as well.

The original dash A/C controls needed replacement. The new controls mount via the shaft, so some fabrication was required. The shaft on one control is a bit longer, so will probably have to cut it down. I'll have to see once I decide on the new knobs.

The A/C needed to be charged as well. I believe I need one more can of Freon.

Well...the 345 is now part of my Argosies genetic makeup so it has to count!

Your dash AC control is totally different than the 84 and later coaches. The later ones used a Chrysler/Dodge control unit that is more or less a piece of junk. Well, at least junk in the way Airstream installed it anyway.

I'm not impressed how Airstream did this one either. I would love to get an in person, close up look at a 2 million dollar coach today to see if they do any better.

I've been at the ranch for 12 days and heading home tomorrow. The pickup tanks are filled with 12 day old gas (old price). Won't have to fill up to get home, but it will be interesting to see the price. I put Sta-Bil in the little generator, gas cans, ATVs and MH today. With the rising prices, I'm not sure about the future of driving up here as often.

Spending a little time at the motorhome. Awesome weather this weekend. I'm soaking it in before the temps climb over 110 degrees in another month or two.

Doing a few maintenance items. Checked brake fluid. Its full, color is good and reservoir is clean at the bottom. Lubed front end and drive shaft. Added one more can of Freon to dash air. Its running cold now! Riveted the drivers side front "spoiler". I tore it off some time back. For those "wondering", yes the front spoiler is not original. It was made by my dad to cover the front hydraulic jack when he installed the 3 jack system.

My wine this week is from Chateau Ste. Michelle in Washington state. We visited the winery last summer and had a wonderful time and of course we joined their wine club. I really enjoy watching "Keep Your Daydream" video blog each week. They are back in their Airstream trailer this summer.

And of course, my favorite activity is riding my UTV out back.

I'm surprised, I thought all the P30's had an access window for the master cylinder. I went a step further and cut the upper section out of the window to give a little more access!Click image for larger version

I’ve been prepping the roof for 10 years now to paint it white. 20-25 years ago, the roof was painted “aluminum” color. I’ve been waiting for 10 years for that paint to disappear. LOL.

So a little clean up and now painting with white roof paint. Doing it this week while temps are 85+. In a few weeks it will be 110 degrees.

Nothing like taking that item off the todo list after being on it for 10 years. The cargo trailer makes a nice platform to work from. . Click image for larger version

I did something very similar when I was doing the roof AC work on the 310. I parked it next to the 345 and set a couple of planks between them. That was when I was swapping the 345 AC units over to the 310 because they were in better shape. Made the job a lot easier.

Which brand of white paint are you using?

Feels good to get this done! I used Henry’s Enviro-White. I put Henry’s on my cargo trailer roof 10 years ago and it is still going strong. Also used it on the tool truck. Did two coats on the MH. Probably could use a third coat but this is all it’s going to get. Click image for larger version

Sounds like a good track record for Henry's. We used Henry's on Peanut and on mine I used Bus Kote. It will be interesting to see if Bus Kote lasts as long as Henry's.

The roof was painted 20-25 years ago when my dad had the MH painted in 90's colors. Aluminum colored paint on the roof. It actually looked good back in the day.

The weather at the ranch has taken a major toll on the exterior over the last decade. So at this point, most of the roof paint had peeled, very thin or gone.

So what I did was lightly sand the roof with a small rubber attachment on my grinder (one of my favorite tools). That worked well. Yes, it left swirl marks but its the roof and I figured that would help with adhesion of new roof paint. Blew off the roof with compressed air. Then I swabbed the roof with microfiber towels and acetone.

That's all I did. Time will tell if the prep was enough. On my cargo trailer and tool truck, all I did was wash and rinse with car soap, water and scrubber before I painted them. Its been over 10 years for the cargo trailer roof. Since we are on our own water wells here and have been in a drought for 10 years, we can not use the water to wash RVs, cars, off road vehicles, etc., so washing was not an option.

Thanks Dean. I’ve been thinking about painting my roof also, it’s still got the factory clear coat. I’m wondering if it is necessary to strip the clear coat before I were to paint if the clear is still in relatively good shape and not peeling. The only real peeling I have is on the end caps and not on the main portion of the roof. I think I’ve read that most people who paint the roof strip it first. Sure sounds like it reduces heat by a significant amount, like 10° or more.

I'm going to guess the paint would not adhere well to the clear coat. I'm no expert at all, but that would be my bet.
