Thanks Derek. I've never had an issue with the front. I have to be very careful with the rear though. Last trip I pulled into a parking lot and thought I was scraping the trailer hitch but it was the sewer valves and damaged it a bit.

I reinstalled my "non-OEM" front spoiler today. It's main purpose is to hide the front hydraulic jack when it is retracted. The "non-OEM" spoiler was installed years ago when the "non-OEM" leveling jacks were installed. The "non-OEM" gray paint from Dupli-color matches pretty damn well. I think I will sand and repaint the "non-OEM" remotely controlled heated mirrors tomorrow with the same "non-OEM" paint.

I was at a flooring store today, looked at the cork flooring, thinking replace carpet and hardwood??? Sure looked nice! Your new panels looks great!

But wondering if the dog will go skating around when we are on the road.......we have cork in our 68 and love it but we aren't traveling down the road in the trailer with the dog......hmmmm.

I've gotten a lot of opinions on flooring from the "pros" and this forum has a million different suggestions too. The "rose" carpet has to go soon. i was told not to use cork, but can't really remember why...must be getting old...yah, that's it!

I was going to use vinyl planks with the two pre glued sides, but was told that would eventually peel up. I did find a vinyl plank that locks together.

I'm not sure exactly what the problem was, but I recently read a post somewhere by a fellow that had installed cork and was removing it for some reason pertaining to poor performance??? .... it might have been a durability issue???

We used cork planks (click together) in one of our little fiberglass trailers. We have a 75 lb dog and a 12 lb dog. The cork performed very well. We travelled through one of the worst rain storms that Alberta ever saw, and the trailer leaked something fierce. Plus we hit bumpy roads, and the fridge opened and cans of beer went flying and burst open. The floor was fine. Cork never mildews. It is very warm underfoot. We notice a big difference in the warm floors of that uninsulated trailer compared to our Airstream. Anyway, we sold that trailer after we bought the Airstream. However, we kept our other fiberglass trailer and added cork floors to it. Now, we are renovating our basement, and you guessed it, cork all the way! When our Airstream floors start to tire, we plan to replace with cork.

We live in a very extreme climate: very hot summers and very cold winters, and cork stands up well. However, we have not used the glue-down cork tiles. I don't think the glue would hold in our climate.

If I remember right, the salesman said the cork would not hold up to rocks and dirt that one would get in their RV from camping

Hi Lisa,

Sounds like the cork is working fine. I think buying flooring is like buying tires, the salesman tells you what ever they want in order to sell you what they have in the back room. Sounds like your cork has held up to some abuse. I like the thought of warmer floors. I'm afraid the vinyl will be cold on the feet in the winter.

I also have extreme climate changes up in northern calif where I keep the MH. 110 degrees in the summer and 20-30degrees in the winter with lots of rain (however no rain yet this yr). And the MH has to sit long periods of time closed up with no electricity.

Yes I put the cork in and now it's got to come out. We did a four month, 16,300 mile trip http://www.airforums.com/forums/f42/...oad-79445.html and it did not hold up. Now we do travel with a small 150 lb. Great Dane and it also may be a problem with the brand of cork that I used.

When I installed it the vendor told me to put a coat of polyurethane on to better seal it, this was pre-finished flooring. I put on two coats. I have a couple of spots on front of the couch that have worn through. There are also a couple of areas where the flooring has delaminated and created bubbles. One joint opened up about 1/8" and I have no idea why. The molding around the entrance and battery cover was too light and broke early in the trip. This molding was about $30 for 8'. The bath area which I was most concerned about because of the moisture seemed to hold up better than the rest of the coach. I do like the look and feel of the cork but it just didn't make it in this application. Again maybe it was just the brand that I bought.
