cruise control 1989 345LE

I am sure that I'm not the only one with the problem as to how to replace an Airstream installed cruise control with a new unit. The factory was of no help. Looking for the easiest and hopefully less expensive method to replace the original ( installed by Airstream) after market cruise.

If you look at my posts in this thread you will get the information about how I had mine replaced and how much it cost me.

Good luck.

I updated our 345 cruise control a few years ago with an after-market non-vacume unit for under $300 after spending a lot of time with no results trying to locate parts for the factory cruise control. It turned out to be much cheaper and easier to just completely replace the cruise with a new unit than to try and repair the existing unit. I selected one that replaced the old cruise arm and looks like it came with the 345. Check your local autoparts supplier or the web.

On my last trip the cruise decided to stop working. Then about 20 miles into my trip this weekend, the speedo stopped working. I'm going to hope that the two are related, and it's something simple like a cable replacement.
I'm in the same boat, and I'll post my results!
