What Peter said.....you need 12 volts all the time at the fridge.....even if on AC. Sounds like you have multiple problems, not related to each other. Regards, Bob

Yes, Bob, multiple problems that caused a chain reaction.
I communicated with Ryker via text whilst he enjoyed the burning man festival.
1. 30 amp breaker tripped at generator
2. after reset 110V outlet plug breaker tripped repeatedly
Since fridge was giving him trouble, i suggested to unplug fridge from outlet, suspecting a faulty heater element.
Bingo, plugs were working but fridge still not igniting on gas. Told him to find 12v Fuse/distribution panel and check for blown fuse.
That fixed his issues

Peter has been a huge help! We have most of what we need. The freezer works but refrigerator is room temp. Any tricks or can one go bad without the other going bad?

Wow Ryker, what an epic trip home/ delivery trip.
Loving that you stopped at burning man.
Does sound like you are learning your coach in the process. Lots to learn, no?
How about some pics of the scene there on the playa.
Good idea to turn off your chassis battery switch, to make sure you can get started after a few days of boondocking. Mine drains while sitting, if left on.
Have fun!
Cheers Richard

Freezer gets cold first.....make sure back if fridge is completely clear of debris all the way to the roof vent, this will help. Make sure water drain is also clear and draining.

Is there any way to clean the upper back of the fridge without pulling it out?

I call it a bread warmer Mike...the cabinet above the refrigerator has a tin cover that can be unscrewed....you wont believe the crap that you will find there...once that area is all cleaned out the performance of the refrigerator will really surprise you. Regards, Bob

I noticed the refrigerator getting cooler but certainly not cold. I'll try removing the cabinet above the refrigerator.

I finally made it to the California DMV to get my rig registered in California. They could only find 2 tags with the VIN. My problem is the tag on the dash is somehow destroyed. The tag in the front of the engine is very clear. My question here is did Chevrolet or Airstream place another tag anywhere else on the vehicle? Thanks for the help!

Those were the only two I could find on my 94 diesel. One is the vin from Spartan in my case who made the chassis, the other is from Airstream. I just told the CA DMV that the one that matched my title was the vin, and the went for that. My window sticker is also messed up...I would love to get a new one from Airstream!

Hey Sebas, that would be great if Airstream would make us a new tag! I have the tag on the original books but they would not accept that. The good news is that I passed SMOG without a problem, after I reinstalled the catalytic converter that the PO removed.

I spoke to Airstream. They can not supply a new dash tag. Every vehicle has confidential VIN locations. I spoke to someone who has access to the database and he told me that the tag on a P37 chassis is on top of the chassis near the rear shock mount. Anybody ever see this tag? Hopefully Airstream did not move it. I climbed under my frame for 30 minutes with a flashlight and a mirror but I couldn't find it. There is very little space between the frame and the coach.

I had the worst luck dealing with Airstream Supply. Ordered in September, finally received partial order in January. Still waiting on rest of order. Now I get to try and get refund off of credit card. Believe I just give up at this point.
Go with Andy at Inland RV. Paying extra is worth it sometimes!

Airstream Supply take orders for everything on their website, sometimes they are in stock and get supplied straight away, others they don't have in stock, many are NLA and many they simply pass orders directly through to Airstream. The issue I have with them is they bill the card straight away before finding out which of the three situations they are in. For NLA parts they are normal quite quick to cancel the order. For the Airstream supplied parts they are at the mercy of the factory, and I have had body panels take 3 or 4 months to get drop shipped direct, some that never show up. This means I have got refunds several times, and it is normally very efficient, it just shouldn't be necessary, and wouldn't be necessary if they only billed when items ship.

Gents,
Credit card companies must charge the day of purchase or within 30 days of the old slider machines and paper receipts. If they wait until it is shipped and you argue your charge because it is months later and you forgot, the merchant gets a charge back on their account and the burden of proof is on them. Essentially it would be a significant liability to Airstream Supply Co to wait until it ships. I would rather have a cumbersome source, than no source.

Fuel filler neck
Does anybody know what hose I need to buy before I drop my fuel tank? I replaced all fuel lines that I could see except the filler hose. I was hoping to have the hose ready before I drop the tank.
