Coach Battery/Circuit Relocation

The coach batteries were originally inside a compartment next to the driver's seat, accessible via the outside vented door. When I bought the coach, they had been haphazardly wired to a spot inside the vehicle behind the sofa/bed. I moved them into the remaining side of the main battery compartment and was able to fit four optima gel start/deep cycle batteries in parallel at right angles. This is great if you like to dry camp for very long periods, and I do!

The big problem for me was the unusually long circuit this system took. Now that I have redesigned the main battery circuit, I can see a way to shorten the pathway while I have easy access. Most my inside lighting has already been converted to LED panels that are regulated to prevent burnout so I no longer have a need for more than one or two deep cycle batteries once the old ones fail. I'm using Inteli-Power for conversion from AC to DC. So far, everything is coming together nicely. -Mary

Okay, the rerouting is finished and everything works! Better yet, I haven't burned down the neighborhood.

I replaced glass fuses with a spade type system that'll accept breakers once I know fuses aren't failing. I recessed the plastic box below the passenger seat and univolt (Inteli-Power) next to the swivel chair. I believe this was the factory location before the fire. Let me reiterate, I bought it after the fire! All rewiring is nearly complete and have feel safe and comfortable with my work. With any luck, I'll be re-installing the radiator soon. -Mary
