all in all a great Rally. Few complaints, as the vendor area was geared more towards the folks who could be there Tuesday through Friday. Folks who came for weekend weren't too happy with Airstream completely shutting down and leaving at 4 on Friday. Same way with Fantastic Vent, they were gone as of Friday as well. But, as I was only a day visitor both Friday and Saturday, believe I got the best of all.
The Vintage Trailer 'Open House' was quite an experience! WOW! Will post pix in the Vintage section, if I can find it, lol.
Thanks, Derek

Klattu, seems like the Rally may have been better served if they tried to group the Airstream and Argosy motorhomes in a group, similar to the Vintage section they had. I didn't even try to take pix of the 'box' motorhomes that were in attendance. Lots of the Cutter's and the monster diesel pushers there as well.
Thanks, Derek

I75 in northern Kentucky

Spoted a classic 310 or 345 in a rest area southbound on I75 in northern Kentucky. I had just dropped off ours in Jackson Center for segment repair.

Spotted a newer Classic Airstream pulling into Bates RV in Seffner, FL in Thursday March 8. Was this anyone from Forum? Believe it was a diesel pusher.
Thanks, Derek

I appreciate you posting these photos. I have seen pictures of this rig before and have always thought it would be cool to turn my 345 into a toy hauler for my Harley-Davidson. I seriously doubt I will ever do it since I like having my bedroom and I would be giving up a lot all for a place to haul my bike but I like seeing how the factory went about setting up the rear hatch. I like that they used door hinges and a right hand and left hand door handle to latch it. The polish job you did looks great as well.

Hi Easystreamer,

Thanks for the compliment on my moho. It's funny though, because the more I look at the way it's set up, the more I think that I'd rather tow a trailer behind a fully equipped 345 or 350. I guess that'll be another project down the road.
I haven't made a lot of progress over the winter, but will update with more photos when I manage to get rolling again.

Charly.

That's basically where I'm at as well. I like the idea of the toy hauler but it sure eats up a lot of valuable living space. I know they can be made to be dual purpose with fold out benches and the like, but I doubt I could ever have the rear as a toy hauler and have my queen sized Sealy Posturepedic and memory foam topper in it. For now I will keep towing and will most likely always do that since I don't even like the idea of changing a my roof fans to non-oem style units. The plain and simple fact is that your factory toy hauler is just cool and unique.

Airstream RV and Trailer were spotted in Ennis, Texas yesterday, March 18, 2012 about 3PM. Wish I would have been in town. Have a 1992 Classic 345LE and 1959 27ft trailer that we are using camping.

I'm pulling out later this morning after spending the past 2 months parked at Holly Bluff Family Campground in Asheboro, NC so I could visit with my family. I'll be headed North as well, making my way towards Pennsylvania to check up on my leased site at Penn Wood.

We're headed for the "best coast", not the "least coast". In fact we can see British Columbia from our campground near Port Townsend, WA.

Airstream Recon

yesterday, my daughter and i went out searching for a couple of Airstreams that we had seen hiding in the woods around here. Should've brought the camera. Found a 1976 (27 or 29 footer) wedged in between a row of pine trees and the north side of an old house. Also found a 1963 up the road in a little community known as "Bandana" that needs a lot of work despite the owner's claims that it was in great shape. So, point is, even here in rural Appalachia, Airstreams can be discovered.
