Arrived a couple hours ago. Something broke! It was the toad. Too close to move to diagnose in detail, have to send to mechanic's. Hopefully we will get it back in time for next weekend's TN trip.

Home sweet home.

We pulled in at 5:50pm after leaving at 9:50am; fueled up just before the bridge into Canada and didn't spare the horses for home.

Sorry we couldn't say good bye to Dave this morning as he had to leave to take care of some business. Also missed saying goodbye to Mel and Judy as I was taking care of some business. To the bunch of you all, thanks for having us and making it a great weekend.

Gabby stroked one off the bucket list as she has now dipped a foot into four of the five Great Lakes. We took off with the top down on Zippy to Manistee, through the Manistee National Forest; very nice drive.

Cheers
Sidekick Tony

Want to thank everyone that accepted the challenge and traveled great distances to make it a success! Ann and I really enjoyed it. We had it pretty easy. 56 miles home. The home court advantage. I believe everyone made the trip home without any major catastrophic events. Mel had some issue with a fuel leak. Let us know how your return trip is going. Looking forward to the next one this fall.

Although we enjoy exploring new areas, there are advantages to returning to familiar sites to take advantage of the local amenities. My family has done the spring camping trip there for years while my folks were able to participate. Ann and I plan on a May trip to Northern Exposure next year. It’s pretty easy to put a group together. They open up phone reservations January 15th at 9:00 am. If there’s interest next year or sometime in the future for a “get together” , big or small, let me know.

Dave...

Big shout out to Dave for squaring away this get together at Northern Exposure, thanks so much Dave. We had a great time, as usual, seeing all of you again. Always a joy and Lynn and I both had a wonderful few days. Perfect spot for our get together I think. We lollygagged home hitting Van Buren State Park along the lake and then found a little diamond of a city campground in Earl Park Indiana. Got home around noon today after stopping to fill up with diesel n propane so we are ready to go for our next trip......not sure yet where we may head next this summer. At some point we will probably get to Colorado again to see the family within the next few months.
The rig just keeps on chugging along. Performed pretty flawless once again on this trip. Knock on wood....twice. Bob pointed out to me at one point over the weekend that he had the only gasser at this event......WOW!..... that's quite a few old diesels all gathered in one spot.
Here's to a fun and safe summer for all of you!

Mike n Lynn

We got home Monday(28th) after spending a week at Lake Eufaula in eastern Oklahoma. No surprises other than the broken fuel manifold at Cedar Springs. Call Grand Rapids Cummins early that Monday(21st) and they had it 'in stock'. So, I drove to the other side of Grand Rapids, and back. Had is fixed by 10:00 and headed south into the rain.
Now I'm working on my 'RV fix it list'. Got the grill off and relocating the coolers from under the bumper to behind the grill..... I hope.

Mel, in light of all the work you did prior to the trip I'd have to say your maiden long range voyage was a resounding success!

I'm impressed

Judy and I had a good time. It was a good trip..... No tow trucks

I won't admit it but my broken fuel manifold was my own doing(or in this case NOT doing).
Got the inter cooler in front of the radiator. No room for the 2nd cooler for the transmission. Going to see how the tranny heat goes with just the 12X12 flat plate cooler that's behind the headlight. I have another 12X12 cooler that was engine oil cooler for the 454. Sprayed 3 cars of brake cleaner through it but still see oil. Don't want to kill my Allison w/motor oil in it.

Thank you for all the information. Been looking and see that P-pump timing is best at 16 degrees where as mine is 13 degrees. Read how to change it and not sure I was to try it.
Till the next time.

It’s on our calendar! I’d take a little snow over the 100 degrees and green leaves we saw on last year’s fall trip all the way to Bah Hahba and back through Cooperstown. Hope Nancy and Richard will blind us with their polished presents.

I would be interested in attending next year with our 1992 350 LE, this year I plan on just doing local areas to work the kinks out.

OK, mark your calendars.....Pennwood is a go for September 20, 2018 (Thursday) through September 24, 2018 (Monday). Come any or all of the days. Remember....Pennwood is small so space is limited. Let me know if you plan on attending......No promises on the weather.....be prepared for anything, we had it all last time. Commemorative shirts are in the works, you must attend to get one, nuff said, Regards, Bob
