Just pulling your legs guys.

Young compared to you and me Tony.

And the guy has an adorable family. Much to be thankful for.

OK everyone who attended the 2016 Classic Motorhome Get-Together which in my opinion was a "blast" , I am seeking ideas for a 2017 location. Penn Wood, I'm sure is available, but maybe somewhere else would be a different idea. I would like to push the date to second week of June....The snow and chilly temps were a downer for me. All ideas are welcome,,,,,Regards, Bob

We liked the idea of Tennessee or Georgia. Not sure the names of the parks that were mentioned. But Lynn will be retired by then so we are pretty open. You da man BOB! We should consider our Canadian brothers though, so dont want to get too far south.

The Airstream campground just west of Knoxville was really nice. There was a small motorhome rally there a few years ago and I thought the campground was nicely laid out.

I like the idea of Tennessee as well, and have been informed my projected class date should be July, but would prefer early June, as we will be in the middle of a move.

Classic Motor home get together

I'd like to throw in the Ludington Michigan state park prior to the kids getting out of school for future consideration. Untouchable during the summer months. Spring or fall.

Either sound nice. Michigan would be nice because of the lake right there, I could bring my boat, however, I do have to stop at Maker's Mark Distillery at some point next year because I have a barrel with my name on it waiting for me! We are going to be fairly limited on time off this year because we have two vacations planned and my wife is switching jobs (hopefully). Plus I am not overly confident in my Argosy, Penwood was the farthest it has ever been in a single trip!

As far as timing goes, I vote for May or mid/late July (dont move dates around for me because theres still a chance I cannot go). My reasoning being that Chrissy and I have a Caribbean vacation planned for that second/third weekends in June that is set in stone.

For us only TCPC would be a possibility, except our travel season ends in May. Just too darn hot in the south to be dragging the big MH around, with all the heat related issues. And of course my biggest considerations have to be job related, by not being able to plan that far ahead. I may be under some contract obligation.
So, Bob, its almost easier to just pick a spot and name a date and see who shows up, just can't please everyone.

Well that's Alaska out.......I'm with Peter, throw a dart at a map, another at a calendar and call it Bob.

Hopefully I can get the time off, as the shop I work at is closing down for good at the end of the month; so it's off to find new employment for me. The wife wants me to renovate Airstreams.....

Cheers
Tony

Bob,
Another thought on the weather in June.
Being a longtime southern resident, I made several long trips in the incubator. at 90-100 you have to run both AC's (if so equipped ) and the Engine AC to stay comfortable for extended drives. Breakdowns are torturous and right out dangerous for family and pets.
Yes, TCPC is on a plateau with somewhat more moderate temps in June, but folks still have to get there.
We have our Rallys in the winter month hoping for snow and chilly temps

We are looking forward to attending. Location doesn't really matter, and we will do our best to make the dates work.

We try to plan our longer trips in the spring and fall. It also avoids the crowded campgrounds when the kids are out of school. During the summer we do shorter local trips and travel early in the day.

Weekend of 9-12JUN16 would be perfect. That is a month prior to the one year course I have to attend. The family and I would have one last relaxing campout prior to the rush of a move. We're in!

It's a little closer then last year but I still might have to pass. 2700 miles each way is a long drive for a long weekend outing. You guys have fun and take lots of pictures.
