Alright team, there you have it! Colorado Springs is ideal for a visit during that time.

I would like to propose four (4) consecutive days in the window from 23-28 April. What dates work the best for all of you?

Destination: Colorado Springs
Dates: TBD
Campground: TBD (let's discuss this once we finalize the dates)
Activities: TBD (let's discuss this once we finalize the campground)

Alright team,

With no feedback after the weekend to think about it, I am going to assume no one has any conflicts and will decide on 23-26 APR 2015. Intent would be arrival evening of Thursday 23APR15, and departure the morning of Sunday 26APR15.

Any feedback on the campground?

Destination: Colorado Springs
Dates: 23-26 APR 2015
Campground: TBD
Activities: TBD (let's discuss this once we finalize the campground)

Thanks for keeping the ball rolling Vycan. Seems sort of like herding cat to pull this crew together.
I am working towards being able to join in for the get together.
Like the looks of the garden of the gods location. Those rock formations are cool. And should make for some fun hiking. But am open to what ever fits every ones interests.

One of the projects I'm working on is getting rigged up to tow my old Porsche 911, hence the interest in being Near Pike's peak and other fun drives.

Many of the regulars here on the forum are deep into restoration of their rigs so may have a hard time joining us. But hopefully the others that have mentioned interest will be able to join in this gathering. I certainly hope so as I have not run into any other live and running classic motorhomes since getting mine just over a year and about 5 thousand miles ago.

So I'm really looking forward to meeting others from the forum and getting to check out some other rigs. This should be fun!

Cheers Richard

Tevake and Kota, thanks for the support with it!

Team, I just posted this on the rally calendar here. If interested please sign up to help me research suitable park locations based on number of attendees. Please also include if you will not attend so I know the message is circulating. I am assuming 50amp, cable, water, and dump at each site is preferred, but what do you need?

For example, we are happy with just 30amp, and willing to ferry water back and forth with a 5 gal container if necessary. If this is not suitable as the baseline for planning, please add input.

Tom & Sue H here. My first post on this forum. We've been kinda lurking here 'bout for a while now b/c we are trying to buy a classic Airstream. We haven't even set foot in one yet so we are still gathering data and getting a feeling for our expectations. It would seem to be a good idea to attend a few of these excellent rallies to get a feel for what people like about their campers and what to expect when looking to purchase one. Anyway we would like to attend the rally utilizing a tent if there are tenting spots open. The weather can be very unpredictable that time of year so we may or may not stay in the campground. We live 4 hours south and my brother lives 4 hours north of Co Spgs so it would be a good opportunity for us to get together as well. So, we may be crashing the party! Hope to meet you all there. Tom & Sue H

Tom and Sue,

Glad to see you are interested. Just a thought for you: Diesel Pusher
If you have any mechanical skills this is a rare find, and would take a little know-how for the engine, and a lot of elbow grease for the exterior, but in the end you could get one of the most sought after classics for a bargain.

Team,

Have done a bit of research and determined the best deal, and nicest facilities are at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. The gentlemen at Vintage Airstream Club have asked to join us, and I have obliged. Currently I would like us to get Meadow Group spots B+C that gives us space for five personnel, if we get four more we will gobble up A, and that leaves D and E for the VAC gents with four spots, or they can spill over to A.

The catch here is that it is the group reservation, and requires us to commit. So for this plan to be a go we need commitment.

Plan is 24-27APR15

These are the activities I plan to do with my family, and would like to invite you all to share. Note, the Tesla Museum is a by appointment only. As such will need an alternate here if there is something you ladies and gents would rather do.
24APR15- Arrival
25APR15- 9:30am Group Breakfast (biscuits and gravy, Pancakes, and eggs?)
-Sometime during breakfast get number of people interested in going
to the airplane diner to make a reservation
12:00pm-2:30pm Garden of the gods hike
2:30pm-4:30pm afternoon ciesta (because naps are great after hikes!)
5:00pm meet back at Campground to arrange travel to Dinner
6:00pm-8:30pm Dinner
9:00pm-10:00pm campfire and smores
26APR15 Breakfast on your own
11:00am-1:00pm Tesla Museum
6:00pm-Until Complete Cheese and Wine tasting (bring a bottle of your
favorite wine, a loaf of your favorite bread, and a block of your
favorite cheese to share.
27APR15 Clean up and departure

I cannot tell you all how excited I am to do this, and meet everyone that comes. If the timing is bad, and you wish you could make it, that's fine, just vocalize it, and I can look into one once I get back from my business trip sometime in the late fall.

I won't know my April schedule until March 14th but will try to be there. Do you still want to stop by Boulder and pick up that love seat?

Pardon my stupidity but what site numbers would be included in spots B+C? On the campground map that Im looking at its not real clear. We are still interested in trying to make it out. Thanks for your efforts Vycan! Shall we wait to make reservations untill more folks respond?

Mayco,

The group spots require a group reservation, cannot reserve individual spots.
