Classic Motor home get together

Just got home now (3:15am Eastern Time), and I have to wake up for work just 4 hours from now, but it was SO worth it!

What a fantastic weekend!

I wish we could have made it.
With the trip to Alaska a few weeks off, I used the time for preparing the 310 for 6 weeks on the road. I hope someone has a chance to set one of these up next year. Glad to see that most of you made the trip unscathed.

Team,

Just got home. Knocked out 750 miles yesterday, and 350 today. Had loads of fun. all are safe and sound.

Overall it was so awesome to meet everyone, and put faces and names with internet handles during the event. Each and everyone of you had such a profound impact on my own projects over the past few years, and if it had not been for the forum, I would not have nearly the amount of enjoyment with the motorhome. I am horrible with names, and by next year I will have forgotten everyone's, but if anyone would like my cell for networking/troubleshooting ideas, feel free to PM me.

Mayco, I loved the copper accents in your coach, and your LED lighting solutions. Good to see you again this year. Only other coach that made it from last year.

Isuzusweet, the cabinetry in your coach and attention to detail was incredible, and the rear lounger was a new feature I had not seen.

Bethany, I did not get the chance to see your coach, hopefully I will next time.

Shepard, your breakfast nook change was awesome!

Mehes, your coach was in such pristine condition it was as if I had traveled back in time to see one come in off of the factory line.

Bobmiller, it was amazing to see your coach's use with five people on board, and the work you have put into it. Thanks for coordinating the event.

Streamquest, I have never seen a 370 before and it was absolutely amazing to see the rarest airstream motorhome in person. Let me know if you decide to do the 7.3L International Harvester Diesel swap with that 460.

Nawwin, Always great to see a diesel pusher, and I loved the tile job you guys did to yours

Sonia, the restoration of your coach was incredible, and modernized it quite a bit. I made sure not to leave fingerprints on your ceiling!

Mprokap87, So incredibly jealous of the steal you got on your Argosy. That is trully a gem!

Martin, it was amazing to see your rebuilt argosy in person after following the rebuild thread for the last year, seeing it in person fulfilled one of my forum bucketlist requirements.

JM2, It was awesome to see a stock argosy, and hear about your adventures with it supporting the scout troop.

Tap, Hope to see your coach next year, and it was great to chat about your plans and projects while you were there. Look forward to receiving the pics you took.

bkahler, It was so good to meet and talk to you. There are so many threads of yours I would reference as a starting point for my own frustrations.

Thanks for sharing the weekend.

Ahh...home at last, kind of an emotional let down...I wanted to be the last one out of Penn Wood so that I could see everyone off. After Mike and Lynn had left it was finally our turn...I had previously moved our 2014 diesel cruze over to the road and after hooking up the tow dolly to the 325 the cruze would not start!!!! LMAO!!! Some sort of fuel problem, so the five of us pushed it up the ramps onto the dolly and off we went. It is now in the shop at home and I will start hunting around with my power probe, (John and Tony would like that) and let you know what I find. I hope everyone had a great time and I'm sure we all passed the "Leak Test". We had the best and the worst weather...all in one weekend. My front furnace stopped working on Friday night...another item for the never ending list. It was great to meet all of you and I look forward to another Get Together as time permits for all of us.

Thought we should report in here. We are in western Ohio, stopped at Butt Crack State Park....dog gone spell check....thats BUCK CREEK STATE PARK. Straight shot on I70 the rest of the way home.
We had an absolutely GREAT time at the get together and look forward to more. Cant say enough about Bob for putting this together, as Lynn said "Bob set the bar awfully high for future gatherings".
Just so much fun seeing friends we had met before and meeting all the rest of you crazy and playful Classic Motorhome folks.
We should be home by 3:00 this afternoon. (Airstream Gods willing)
What fun we had!!!!!!!!!!

Y'all take care now ya hear!!

Mike n Lynn

Rivet Congratulations for a successful rally

what a sight to see so many in a row and all the folks behind them..
One thing is for certain, it does take a special person to work and operate these rigs and that goes all the way to the co-pilot putting up with it.
When we had the mystic springs MOHO rally, a couple of participants "lusted" after a different model and 1 changed hands on the spot.
I am sure you got a lot of ideas for improvements, but is anyone of you considering changing models after what you saw this weekend?

One more photo for everyone to enjoy....when we got home the interior door latch came off and I had to exit through another means...I had emptied the motor home at the shop ten minutes before so I didn't have the Phillips screwdriver I needed ! Ahhh Click image for larger version

Bob,

LMFAO!!! Isn't that exactly how you and that 325 started off your relationship?

Given your unique skills as an escape artist, you should have hosted a seminar at the rally demonstrating the dignified way to exit under such circumstances.
I'm laughing now, but I know the same experience awaits me down the road.
Thanks again for all the great work at Penn Wood, and watch that last step!

Charly

Made it home safe n sound. Ran like a champ, all systems performed as they should. Knocking on wood! Hit one section of horrible road on I76, slowed to 50mph and still the road was in such bad shape that it vibrated my turn signal flasher unit right out of the fuse block!!holy moly

Well I guess now that Lynn has driven Mike home, that's it officially for this years event................now for next year, any ideas anyone? Somewhere and sometime without snow would be preferred!

Canada is out as most people are from the US. How about...

http://www.airforums.com/reviews/sho...duct=65&cat=33

as it is pretty central to the US.

Or we could all take the ferry to Cuba........go meet Fidel with our imperialistic Yankee land yachts.

Cheers
Tony

I'm in for next year...absolutely, and maybe I'll have a 370 by then...you are correct Charly, that is exactly how our venture started in Chicago with the 325....even went out the same window, except it opened more easily this time ! LOL

Thanks for a great get together. We enjoyed meeting most everyone as much as we could give our late arrival.
Looking forward to next year's reunion .
