RE: someone's bubble burst

I saw this post but for some reason, I can't find it to reply to it...

So, what are the risks to buying across the border? I live in California but I get nervous about purchases from someone or a company in Canada or Mexico.

I assume there are enough club members in Canada, I would be able to find cautious and try to find a local AS club inspector.
Are there laws about "importing" a motorhome into the US?
Anything else?

Process of importation is super easy. I personally have zero experience with Mexico and I wouldn't trust anything on that front personally. Canada/USA are very similar. 72 hr notice to the border crossing is required, you can fill out the paperwork yourself at the border. You need an " itn " ( identification number). save you $300 dollars or more Self clearing; use a broker if you want but it's unneeded.pay applicable taxes( state sales tax if it applies) and away you go.oh there's a a/c unit tax($100?). I cannot speak to local registration etc; don't you in California has over the top emission controls? There is a list of inadmissible vehicles. ( for example a Chinese car lol)I'd check that just in case, after 25 years even those can be imported( though getting on the road is probably not possible)

I wouldn't think twice crossing the border for another vehicle. Best way to start is find a day to set aside to be able to phone USA customs/Canada customs. Phone a transport company that does cross border( I've used turbo transport twice)ask questions. It's hard to find the questions that you want answered I find expect to spend hours on the phone if you want to understand the entire process in a bulletproof manner

Not mine but an hour away from me if anyone is interested. I might be able to Go down and take a look for you. It is too high of a price in my opinion since it has original flooring and 100k on motor. Guy was on forums for a bit.

I like the (2) 345's... why do you think they haven't sold yet? Both seem pretty reasonably priced...

A friend with a newer "Box" RV told me to be careful about getting an older Airstream trailer or Moho because a lot of RV parks have an age limitation... so, how does that work? Are AS's blocked, even if they are refurbed? Or do you just go someplace else?

The 88 345 has potential at 10k. It would make a fine machine after spending 15k.
The few times, i have been asked about age of my Airstream, i sent I picture and never had a problem. If they still would not let me stay, I would not want to stay anyway.

310 diesel in Seattle:

https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/r...476770715.html

Also, the price on the recent 280 diesel in Oregon has been reduced and it's posted in the classifieds here.

At 22 mpg you’d think it would sell in a second.

..." 22 MPG due to the extensive use of aluminum in the monocoupe design.." really..who l would have thought that adding a few gallons of paint to dull the aluminum would sufficiently reduce the drag coefficient to allow that sort of mileage. I'm off to the paint shop!

Drive away, no problem.....carry anything else in it, big problem; I'm thinking she's a little over the GVWR with all that check plate.

Cheers

Here's a 77 Argosy tour bus from Dollywood. Supposedly in running condition and opening bid is only $750.

It has the 77 front and rear but the dash inside is from a 74-76. I don't think I've seen that combination before.
