Scam???

This was brought to my attention this week...
I believe this picture is the same 345 that was on Ebay recently for $65k...

I smell a scammer...
I know the MH mentioned above and have met the owner, and the email in the ad is not his name...
Thought I would post this so the actually owner of the MH can deal with it if it is.

Its been listed off and on, many different RV web sites. If you scroll back on this thread I think youll find some discussion on it. I think the general consensus is that its some strange DIY trailer mod or something to that effect. Hot mess.

Something amiss

I agree, there is something amiss here.....we have a 1982 MH and it doesn't look like this....the front almost looks like a rear Argosy trailer....or something.....but I agree it is rare......paula

Strangely enough my neighbor where I lived in south Florida had one of these in his side yard years ago. It was really nice, he and his wife used it on a regular basis. I never questioned it, just assumed it was a Airstream motor home. I wonder if the factory had anything to do with them?

Thumbs up Classic motorhome for sale Excellent condition

Hi Folks.

Friends of mine have a 1991 34ft tag that is for sale. I have seen this M/H and it is in excellent condition imho. Owned by a gentleman farmer who has stored it inside a huge metal implement shed. Since the floor is gravel he covers the gravel with a huge plastic tarp and drives onto it. To keep dust off it, he has another huge tarp that is lowered from the ceiling when the M/H is not in use. Believe me when he raises the cover, your heartbeat will quicken.
The outside shines. The inside is as new. As far as I know the mechanics have always been maintained but this you would want an expert to check out. Reason for selling? getting too old to use it. Medical insurance for travel in the USA is now into the thousands of $$$.
It is located in Canada about 20 miles from the Detroit border. Since it was made in the USA, importing it into the USA should not be a problem.

I have no idea what they would sell it for. If interested, send me your phone number and email address and I will forward this to them.

Why am I involved? Just being a good friend and appreciate the quality of this M/H.

no links.

Same one? Not unless it is located within 20 miles or less from the Detroit/Windsor border.

Can we say potential SCAM....listed at 40' long, so the poster doesn't know anything about what they're posting and there's no further info or pics.

No contact info posted, so to everybody that will respond to it, beware and watch out for the old "I'm out of town, the coach is at a shipping company and it will be shipped to you for free and you have 30 days to return it for a complete refund.

Cheers
Tony

I don't think it's a scam. Here's a better link: 40ft 1992 Airstream
I clicked on the "show contact info" link in the ad, called that number (253 961 1308), and talked with Brandon. His story: The coach is parked at his wife's mother's place in Spanaway, he has clear title in his name, and is ready to show and sell it. He got it in trade from his grandpa this summer and has used it a few times driving around WA. The damage to the front bumper happened when a friend jackknifed a boat trailer (see front hitch). As far as he knows everything in it works. Has stained white carpet from kids spilling juice this summer. FI 454 engine and overdrive transmission, 50k miles. New tires 2 years ago. He wants to get rid of it and get a boat.
Anyhow, if I was in Seattle right now I would be on my way to Brandon's mother-in-law's.

Then I stand corrected, my bad...but you can't blame me for thinking scam..$6,500 is quite a bit low for the coach IMHO. Someone will be getting a good deal if your info is correct.....

Keyair (Steve) your new project awaits.

Cheers
Tony

I looked at this coach the other day, the body and interior look good. I did not get a chance to check the mechanicals, since it was out of propane ( I assume).

Here's a real classic. I think it's been posted before, but it's worth a second look! Definitely not pocket change, but seems like a heck of a value.
