What is that compressor in the upper left of the engine compartment? Brakes? AC?

Yes, that would be the air compressor for air brakes. Strange that it appears to be missing the air filter for the compressor.

Pity because getting my 310 home with a pooched master cylinder and air in the lines almost had me thinking attaching a series of NHRA parachute packs along the rear bumper. My right thigh gained a half inch in diameter with all the pumping I had to do that first trip.

My 310 would have been an air brake Airstream first.

Cheers
Tony

You sure the spartan chassis does not use air brakes?

This is one of those threads I want to suggest for someone with huge money....build a classic Airstream motorhome on something like a Prevost built chassis.....or some other chassis with air suspension.

The Gillig chassis under the 370 motorhome uses air for the parking brake, but definitely not for the stopping brakes. They require a SERIOUS amount of pedal pressure to slow things down. On my first test drive I would have sworn the brakes had failed almost completely, but the PO said that's the way they had always been. His advice was to never tailgate, and I have heeded it.

I love that Flixable. Also the diesel Classic which could easily be taken to the next level. But I am happy with my Overlander..

But still looking all the time, aren't ya, Alan?
I recently bought a 1983 Class C London Aire on a 1 ton chevy. The coach is all aluminum exterior with nice looking alclad under the paint.. Don't ask me why, the price was right and I just love to fix these old rigs.

I would love to find out more as well, as it is exactly what we intend to do.

Our 20ft MH is being built to tow, and currently we have Haulmark Bike Trailer but would like to adapt a Minuet to carry the bike.

Classic MoHos for sale?

I saw a write up on it awhile back. It something I've wanted to do for some time. A modern diesel drive train, a 40s ford COE cab, and an Airstream trailer. A guy only has time for so many projects. I decided to go for the diesel pusher. Took years to find one. Got too many other projects planned but it sure is cool!
