If it's licensed and titled correctly, it's legal. I put many miles in them while still in the Army. Fuel mileage will suck with the big Detroit, it will ride rough, this one is an older model with the Hendrickson suspension on both ends. It is not a comfortable vehicle to drive for long distances at all. I would be afraid of it beating the camper to pieces if you drive it much. It will however go about anywhere within reason. And if you somewhere without reason and you get it stuck, it won't be easy to get it pulled out. I know this from experience. Would be a heck of an off road capable camper if you are seriously into that sort of thing. Looks like an interesting build and out of the mainstream type vehicle but I'm thinking I'll pass here.
