FYI

For sale 25k, 41k original miles, All new tires, 12 valve cummins with allison transmission, rebuilt master cylinder with new pads and fluid 3 months ago. Inside is completely gutted. Few minor dents to outside shell. All original appliances work and come with it! Only trades I will consider are a fully livable RV+ cash if lesser value. Just did a 1000 mile road trip recently. Very roadworthy!

Now I have a dilemma....

Bella's sibling (the next unit off the production line) has popped up for sale (at auction) in the UK.

So now I could really have a 'before and after' to park in the drive way.

FYI if it goes for the top estimate you are looking at £23K to get her back to US (~$30K) (after premiums, taxes, shipping, etc)

It doesn't sound like you have a dilemma. It sounds like your wallet has a dilemma. You should probably pull it aside to give it a pep talk and let it know what's coming so it has a fighting chance.

Martin, nice of you to always have enough Argosy's around when your friends come to visit from the US!!

If owning 2 is good, having 3 must be better.

Any idea what the aftermarket gauge is in front of the brake warning light Brad? Looks like a vacuum gauge so could it be the fitted aftermarket front air-bags????

It appears to be an engine vacuum gauge. So nothing to do with front air-bags.

Okay folks I need advice. The Silver Bell is for sale and I have it listed on three sites. Someone texted a few questions and decided rather quickly he wanted it and said he is sending me a cashiers check. It will be here Wednesday. My dad buys and sells motorhome a in Indiana and he says it’s bogus....

So what is the protocol or process if someone is far away and truly wants to buy my 94 Classic? Wouldn’t you want to kick the tires?

Sorry to sound so green. It’s my first motorhome and I have never sold something so valuable.
Thanks and God bless.

Sounds like a scam!

What I would do is to tell the buyer that the cashiers check is OK
but you will wait for it to clear and be processed before he can have
your AS.

I would also go to your bank and ask the manager how long does
it take for such a check to clear and have the transaction not
reversible. I have heard that it can take up to 2 weeks.

Some times you can take the check and show it to the bank
manager and ask him to verify it. If you just deposit it and
it is bad you will have to pay some fees to the bank for their
trouble.

Also; you might tell the guy that your brother is a policeman and
lives next door. You might have him witness the transaction to
insure that everything is OK.

The idea is to scare off any fraudsters but not scare any legitimate
buyers.

Classic MoHos For Sale?

They used to send a cashiers check then cash a copy just before they estimate you got it. They would say they changed their mind with some sad story like their mother just died and ask that you wire them back the money that they desperately need but you could keep some amount for your trouble.

I think that is getting harder to do with electronic clearing but be careful.

We used escrow.com when we bought our 345 from a seller in Minneapolis. It worked for us, and suggesting it would probably deter a scammer.

New postings: 1977 Argosy 24 & 1983 310

Hi there,

Two new postings today, an 1977 Argosy in the middle of the renovation project, almost empty inside but not too bad kept outside. Has potential.
https://duluth.craigslist.org/rvs/d/...235693932.html

And ouch, a 1983 310 who hard a hard fit with somebody, front is crushed but rest of the body quite intact. No pictures from interior. Maybe a donator... seller asking for $1.
https://lexington.craigslist.org/pts...235912358.html

Have a great day,

Mario

The 310 is only about 20 miles from me. If someone is interested I would be happy to do an inspection.
