IMHO The comparison between the 360 diesel pushers, and to a lesser extent the 370's, to my 310 turbo diesel, is like comparing Ginger to Marie-Ann. Sure, everyone would love to have Ginger; but the high maintenance, stares and constant unwanted attention all the time can be a bit much; let alone leaving her alone out in the open for other men to gawk and fondle.

The 370 is Ginger's obese big sister that hangs around getting in the way all the time.

Where as the 310, (Marie-Ann) is just as beautiful and yet friendlier, more fun, (can get into more parks and tight spaces), easier and cheaper to maintain and everyone loves her, but guy's recognize that she's yours, and respect that. A girl next door, Rachel Aniston kinda coach.

I've always looked for Marie-Anns.

Cheers
Sidekick Tony

Everyone has their preference Bob....personally I would walk past both Mary-Ann and Ginger (I even had to search for who they where as I must be the only person in the world never to have seen Gilligans Island!), looking for the smaller more nimble character that Airstream never made, especially if she has the well lit rear end!

As for rarity count how many 370, 350LE and rear-bed 20ft Argosy have been up for sale recently before worrying how many were made. Rarity = availability.

Hey Peter, if that rig in Denver turns out to be as good mechanically as it looks cosmetically it will be a very good find.

Hoping the check out goes well for you!
It seems priced to sell.

We'll talk about that plaid wall covering later.

Cheers Richard

Richard, the only reason I am interested in this unit IS the plaid wall covering

Well Peter, perhaps there is a Scotish branch in that German family tree.

Are you planning to drive home if all goes well in Denver?

Or go home and come back with tools and spares at a later time?

We'll be following your progress, exciting.

Cheers Richard

Richard, booked ticket for Sunday through Travelocity incl car rental to fly in and out and pick it up a week later.
Ran carfax on Vin last night and found discrepancies regarding ownership (original owner claimed) and mileage (10k more than the ad said) Requested copy of new tire purchase and/or number after DOT. Did not receive either. This morning, I told seller I could only bring a cashiers check in the name of the title holder. Sellers reply was to cancel my flight...so much for the plaid wall covering. Fortunately travelocity has a 24 hour full refund cancellation option. Onward through the fog.

Is that fog or an intentional smoke screen?

I guess you learned enough from the last trip to check one out, to now know the questions to cut thru the nonsense.

Sorry to hear these developments, but better now than later.

So many scammers on Craigslist!

The on going search can be fun in itself, and you do find some gems.

Cheers Richard

I can’t recall any 250s being for sale for about two years. Some of you may recall the failed attempt to import them to Europe in the early 90s. They sold six in total (we think). The last one has recently been found in a pretty bad state. As Martin says rarity determines value. Apparently, there is discussion again about a new classic Motorhome for Europe. I predict it will come to nothing once they calculate the build/sale price. Saying that, the trailers seem to sell OK over here.

Hi all

Last year in November was a 250 on Ebay.com. No one has written about it here. There were over 1000 observers. An attempt on my part to buy the 250 has also failed.
That was in great condition. Sold within a few days for approximately 24k.
The name was "Lumpi". With a very spezial Paint.!
Where's ' Lumpi ' now?

best regards Peter

There’s a new listing for a 250 in the Classified section here.

Peter...sorry that the Denver Deal was too good to be true (as it seems, most of them are). I'm off back up to Santa Fe to move the 350LE down a few thousand feet for the winter. It will now reside on a garlic farm (owner is an Airstream enthusiast) where we've prepared a sewered, powered and watered site. the town is Dixon, about a 40-minute drive north of Santa Fe and 40 mins south of Taos. I'll post some pics next week. A winter vacation?

I'm told the number of trailer sales have doubled in Europe since those 250 where built, whereas motorhome sales have gone up 5 fold. The issue is the base Sprinter on which the Interstate is built can be purchased for €28K so why would anyone pay €200K for an upfitted version? However there does seem a market (or so I am told) for a €250K for a Fuso chassis'ed aluminium bodied, Classic styled, 20-25ft motorhome.

Hope you alerted local police or even FBI. Sounds like someone is trying to sell stolen goods... or some kind of title fraud at least. And across state lines?
