Correct me here if I'm wrong but it's my understanding that when Airstream first started installing the Isuzu 6bd1 they didn't have the aftermarket turbo. After a year or two they started installing the turbo. Is that true and does anyone know what years the Excella had the nonturbo Isuzu?

Hang on cowboy....red flags a rising; our Isuzu is 5.8l, not 6.4l, which he has in the ad; states nothing about it being Isuzu powered.

I think the 280 Excella's were all non turbo; at least I haven't seen or heard of a 280 turbo.

Cheers

Alright children lets not get ahead of ourselves.

From my 79 to 81 manual the following chart.

The Isuzu became available in 1981. No turbo is mentioned.

My 1982 280 does in fact have an Isuzu with an after market BAE turbo.

So take that you lads with 310's.

Rear dump depression syndrome, very common actually. Usually coupled with center crapper envy. Sad

Remember guys I now have a Cummins/Allison 345 to keep the 280 company. No more center bath envy, just trying to make sure you guys got your info straight.

I texted Magnet18 just a bit ago, and stated this:
The 370 and the 360 pusher are the rarest and best of the breed, and as such will always be in demand and realize the highest prices.

I’ve said that for years, and I’m standing by it. They are like the Shelby 350 and 500 mustangs.

Having said that, I think Bob’s 370 is gonna be the finest example out there!
I’m thinking he has put $99k in his this year tho.... [emoji3]

You are probably right. Hopefully, that doesn’t make my 310 like a Pinto....

Anyhow, here’s a 345 in Denver:
