I'm 99.9 percent sure the last model Isuzu powered was the 310. I could be wrong........but an Isuzu powered 345, would be an unicorn.
I own an '85 factory 345 Turbo Diesel Isuzu powered unit. I've also seen a Cummins Diesel powered 345 in Cleveland. The guy with the cummins, which was sold to someone in Toledo, had full factory paperwork. It sounded very sweet.

Well, there we go, the unicorn has been found. Just how many of these are out there?
I have a feeling you maybe the only one.

Feel free to post some pictures of your unit as some people (Brad and Peter) have been known in the past to not believe peoples assertions that they own a diesel classic motorhome.

Cheers
Tony

I'm also curious on the specs of your diesel is it with the bae turbo? Is it the same 6bd1 Isuzu?

I thought I read that the later Isuzu diesels had stronger cranks after 83? Is that accurate tony?

Supposedly the 6BD1A non-turbo was picked by Airstream as the T versions turbo plenum and turbo would have had a ridiculous doghouse height. There are some that have stated that the 6BD1A was upgraded to the 6BD1T motor sometime in 84, but AS still stayed with the BAE turbo. Did that happen, I don't know for sure? What I have been told is that the 6BD1A BAE turbo is limited to 10PSI versus the anywhere up to 40PSI a Cummins can run due to different internal components and lack of oil sprayed pistons.

Maybe someone with more knowledge can pipe up as I seem to have been more wrong than right this month.

Cheers

Was the first diesel PUSHER made by Airstream a fiberglass body? Did they ever do one in aluminum? I love the look of the aluminum motorhomes, but I love not listening to the engine while driving or the generator while sleeping.

Fairly nice looking Argosy, with looks like all the bits and pieces still on it. Rear bumper looks a little forlorn. $3,500 US if anyone is interested.

I think this maybe another forum person as Sheldon also owns a 1982 turbo diesel.

Cheers

This is my unit, I have always believed everything can be for sale. So I am listing with little expectation. It is rough, but pretty darn nice in the same sentence lol. I will most likely end up just salvaging parts by chopping up( please do not ask yet because I'd guess it would be in a 2 years from now horizon . Considering I'm in an unfortunate $27000 already for my running tent on wheels I see extreme value for an able bodied person. On this argosy; its alot nicer in so many ways than my coach

It's a unit that would need time spent turning wrenches on my acreage to move under its own weight, or it can be towed 320 kms for free with an AMA premium membership. I figure it would be in a " local" range for prospective buyers
