Speaking of replacing the subfloors in a classic motorhome, are they built like the trailers with the flooring sandwiched between the shell and the chassis?

Or can they be cleanly replaced from the inside of an intact coach?

Cheers Richard

The video here:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f311...on-124594.html

Shows an aluminum sheet being laid over the frame, then the shell going on, with the wood subfloor presumably going on top of the aluminum sheet after the shell is on. I believe that Tony, aka Isuzusweet, has firsthand knowledge on this question.

Actually I think the shell is built around the wood floor and then the whole assembly is lowered onto the truck frame. At least that's the conclusion I came too when I was dismantling the 345. There's no way I could see to get a full width, full length sheet of plywood (or OSB) inside the aluminum channel at the bottom.

Tony

We have legalized pot here in Boulder. Might be time to sell the 94.

Trying to sell the house right now. Instead of remodeling the kitchen I should have just upgraded the electrical service to 500 amps!

Dave, based on these asking prices may I suggest $1,250,000 for the 94?

Appreciated? While finding parts for my turbo diesel 310 can be a I can only begin to appreciate what an owner of that rig would go through trying to find parts.

Cheers

Though old and rare at this point there is actually a group of owners that have put in the time to re-hab their units and can build replacement parts as needed. It's basically the same as any old motorhome after the manufacture stops making parts, like Airstream does, less than 10 years after shipping units.
