In case it's hard to find the video is at

I cannot believe how many Airstreams went up for sale overnight. Guess camping season is over.

Thanks, don't know why he didn't just link the vid

Does look nice, if tacky

Maybe he just has the displacement wrong?

Be interesting to find out. It's larger then the typical diesel and 4sp that would be an amazing upgrade?!

Overall I do not feel that motorhome is worth $25000 based on past rigs. Unless y'all think a bigger diesel mated to an Allison is worth premium?

Body looks really nice one panel to massage out or just properly replace it.

Personally, as stated before, its awesome to see these rigs on the rise.
It will make people understand these rigs are valuable, and worth saving/investing in.

A Diesel MUST be more valuable than a gasser, and by my reckoning, buying a gasser, and putting $10k plus into a diesel conversion is money throw away until the 454 goes bang.

220 hp versus 160 hp IIRC.

Okay it has an Allison, but definitely not stock.

Swillv8 Be interesting to find out. It's larger then the typical diesel and 4sp that would be an amazing upgrade?!

Most likely it has the stock 5.8L. Yes, with the Allison it is nice to have one more gear getting you up to speed; however the final gear ratio is the same as the 475, which is 1:1. One engine revolution equals 1 revolution of the output shaft of the transmission. It's not until you get into the Allison 5 and 6sp transmissions that you get overdrive final gearing.

Somebody put a lot of time, effort, or money into this coach.

Cheers
Tony

Much as I love and enjoy poking Tony, that one was not mine. I think it was Charlie.

What is this.....pick on Tony month? That's okay, I can take it.

Not Charlie (Spicestream) but Dan (Smartstream), another wisecracking Brit; I'm surrounded!

Easy on boys, them there are women mods on this forum that will shut this thread down if you keep this up.

As for Allison envy......I might just have that covered; and raise you a 7.8L. I'm working on it as we speak........

Cheers
Tony

Easy Tony, not a Brit. My family was one of the first 50 that settled in Grande Royal. They were from France but today are known as Acadians or Acadie. We received royal treatment because of our name when we visited the area a few years back. My father was born in northern Alberta in the town of Athabasca. My mother on the other hand has origins in Naples, as in Italy.

While we are talking about size envy, remember I drive a smart. lol:

Those of us 36 foot long DP guys also enjoy an extra wide ratio!

Read it and weep! [emoji15]

First 3.49 : 1
Second 1.86 : 1
Third. 1.41 : 1
Fourth. 1 : 1
Fifth. .75. : 1
Sixth. .65 : 1

Think my differential is 3.53 : 1

The MD3060 Allison really impressed me on the first test drive. Spartan choose well on the EC2000 chassis. It’s performed flawlessly in the mountains or on the flats. They are very common in everything from school busses to garbage trucks. Very durable if serviced as recommended.

It’s a big beast but if I were considering a retrofit, I’d look into it.

Yeah, the MD3060 is by far one of the best transmissions ever built....I would consider a swap into the 370LE, but the electronics nightmare for the conversion would be overwhelming for me....I"m still going with the Detroit 8.2 L turbo/ Allison 645 swap. This set up has been bullet proof for me for 28 years in a work truck application. Regards, Bob

No problem Mike. My wife of 41 years is 1/2 Norwegian and 1/2 British so I guess some of it has rubbed off on me.
