The company that still has a few in stock is Maziuk who is a wholesale distributor for various lock manufacturers. Lock Distributor - Maziuk Phone # 315-474-3959.

As you can see in the pictures below the parts are identical. What Airstream did was remove the finish plate by grinding off the rivets and removing the plate.

I believe the Ives part number is IVE1520420 152B26D Mortise Bolt. Price was $39.20 each. I ordered two, just to have a spare on hand. It sounded like they still had maybe 10 to 15 of these in stock with varying finishes. The finish refers to the plate that gets removed so it doesn't really matter what finish you buy since you have to remove the plate anyway.

Previously in this thread I had mentioned that I was going to try and repair the original lock. I did manage to get a piece of spring steel installed but found that the lock had so much wear in the pivot area that it was still hard to rotate. The new deadbolt definitely works a lot smoother and is easier to rotate.

Anyway, I hope this helps those of you who have bad deadbolts like we did.

Brad
Could you check that part number again please. I searched that site using the part number you posted and there is no picture available and the price was 49 dollars. My dead bolt works but I think having a spare would be a good idea. Thanks for your hard work for our community. Steve

Steve,

Here is a picture of the receipt. Call and talk to them Monday. I was on the phone with them for a while, mainly verifying dimensions.

The dead bolt is 9/16" thick, 2-1/2" set back, and 1-5/8" wide. The square hole is 3/16".

The replacement dead bolts offered now by Ives are totally different in looks and dimensions.

The salesman's name might have been Jim. His initials on the receipt are JD. You could also reference my order # 6707600.

Good luck!

Brad

Thanks, that's a good idea. I'll call them on Monday.

On my 310 there wasn’t any remote operations of the deadbolt that sets off the door alarm (Upper lock), although a PO in the past had fitted the later dash with the remote switches on it, after an engine fire.

I intended to fit ordinary car door locking actuators some where in the wall panel. I had removed the panel between fridge and the door way to fit up a drinks cabinet, reasonably successful, however it dragged on a bit and I forgot to fit the actuator, So this winter.....

My question is now. My keyed Kwikset deadbolt "C" clip on the back of the key tumbler broke, leaving me on the outside of the 310....

I have looked through all the adverts on Kwikset and didn't realise how many models there are. Any one know which one I need to replace this lot, or if I can just get hold of the "C" clip? The nearest model number I got to was 660- something!

Hopefully you were at home when this happened.

I can look at the lock assembly I have sitting on the table from the 345 and see if I can find any good information on it. I wonder if you could find a C clip locally?

I still owe you a picture of the fridge handle(s). The model number is 2815 if that helps.

Fridge Handles ....... Now .... Where did I put my memory...

No, Mary and I were camping at the UK AirStreamers meet up at Rockhill, Thankfully a fellow Motorhomer (only 3 of us) had a young very agile child able to negotiate a small window - I forgot to close....

I did try local supplies of the "C" clip but the ones on the lock are very thin, or should I say narrow. The lobes of all the clips were too big and the bit in the middle that locks on to the shaft going through the lock barrel was not long enough. Clearly a special C for a special lock!

I am looking on the Bay at KWIKSET 660 15/96600-458 Single Cylinder Deadbolt Satin Nickel Finish 042049051339 | eBay, and that looks the same??? What do you think?

Steve, I never found a replacement servo, never really looked that hard even. The information I posted previously is what was written on the servo motor. In a post somewhere on the forum someone mentioned that they had found a replacement. I'll do some searching and see what I can find.

Steve, I think the door lock is from an Astro Van.

Nice Brad!
In fact, it IS the door lock actuator for ALL Chevy's of that period, inc Suburbans!
I have an order for my GF's Range Rover with free shipping ready to go from Autohauz AZ, I just added it... a VDO version for $38...

I can bend up a plate for it I am sure if you want to keep your mounting plate...

Steve,

If I remember I'll stick the mounting plate inside the crate that I finished last night. Well, maybe not quite finished, I still need to put the lid on it

Steve,

I've got the mounting plate in the crate now. Do you need the electrical connector and the two mounting screws for the servo?

Brad

Ok, I'll throw the screws and bracket into the crate.
