City Water Inlet Replacement

So for some time my city water inlet has been inop due to exterior disintegration. This past week I happened to be in Myrtle Beach and stopped in at CW and picked up what looks like a replacement.

At issue is the attachment seems to be a lock nut/jam nut on the existing setup and a threaded attachment point on the new unit that seems to be father back.

Has anyone done this who has memory of the job.

I note the pipe from the pressure regulator is the old gray abs and could be replaced with pex I think if I need to do a workaround.

Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Glen,

I replaced ours several years ago with something I got from the local RV place. If I remember right it was a direct replacement. I'll try and remember to look at ours tomorrow after work and see if its similar to what you described.

Thanks Brad, I've got very limited access unless I start removing the drive axle splash guards or the exhaust pipes.

I may just redo from the pressure regulator out but hope someone else may have done this and can shed some light on the job.

Glen,

It just dawned on me that yours is a funeral coach which from your description of your water hookup is different than our 310.

Here are a couple of photos of our 310 city water hookup. Very accessable.

Sorry I'm not much help with your problem.

Brad, it looks similar. The replacement I picked up has a threaded stock but the threaded area is not to the depth I would think matches what we have. I'll try to shoot a photo and post.
I'm jealous of the access you have as my tank is below one of my facing sofas and access is tight to say the least.

If you're like me getting access to those tight places is getting harder and harder each year and I'm certainly not complaining about the great access we have on our 310 .

Wait til you try to replace the toilet valve on ANY Airstream moho...we have a city water hookup above the fresh water tank...on the street side, and protected by a lock door...I would surmise that a hose-clamp connection would work, if access was feasible...???m
