For what its worth, my Dad towed a old Chevy bread truck (P30 panel truck) 350 and manual 4 speed. He made up a heavy duty tow bar and pulled it full, most of the time with licence plates! It was only, I think 16' or less. He did not disconnect the drive shaft to do this. With the automatics we have, you would have to drop the drive shaft I would think. You would trash the rear bearings of the trans if you did not.
He pulled the (we called Frog) behind a 1972 40' Silver Eagle he converted to a MO. 318 Detroit diesel with Allison 4 speed auto.
All that being said, I would not do it! Our rigs a much bigger, and would not take the chance!
