If you are driving a MH Yes. Most RVs use the generator to run the unit's AC while driving.

Thinking about the A/C and maybe the TV/DVD.

Why is it not recommended?

I have a 89 345LE

Forgot to ask if I can run both A/C units if I am pluged in and have the generator running?

Thanks
Chuck

hi chuck

yes.

is the drivetrain gas or diesel?

that is a somewhat expensive way to run tv/dvd

and an inverter OR 12v model would be another option.

you MIGHT need the roof air ON really really hot days and the genset is available for that duty.

do you have the OWNER's manual?

are the 2 a/c units on separate circuits and WITHOUT an either/or switch?

if so then yes again.

along with the moho archives HERE and the folks driving classics.

there's now another forum where MANY of the moho folks hang...

Onboard generators are designed for use while driving, I used to have an Apollo with an Onan.

Portable is different, where is it, how do you monitor it, start and stop it... rough road will it spill fuel, etc?

Shoot the generator in Airstream One runs more than the motor. I use it to power the a/c, the often 3 computers, and tonight the electric heat.
Just make sure to keep track of the hours and keep changing the oil.
Most generators are happier if you unload them prior to shut down and the same for startup. Let it warm up just a bit before you load up on electrical demand.

Yes you can run generator while driving. I do it often to use the rooftop A/C. Having the generator running is the only way to use both A/C's at the same time. You don't have to be plugged in to use both. You can only run 1 A/C when plugged in. That's why you have a front/rear switch over the oven in the cabinet.
